** Attempted Revival of VBIED Attacks in the West Bank ** During the past month, two unusual VBIED incidents occurred in the West Bank, in Israel. One was a synchronized VBIED attack on August 30, 2024, targeting Gush Etzion and Carmei Tzur, whose full realization was prevented. The other was a foiled VBIED attack near Ateret, in Binyamin, on September 2, 2024. These two incidents are part of an attempt by Palestinian terrorist organizations, guided and supported by Iran, to reignite the West Bank and regain its reputation as a base for launching deadly attacks inside Israel, and ultimately making the West Bank a central arena in the current war. ** Improvised Mines Attached to FPV Drones Used to Lay Mines on Roads by Russian Forces ** In late August 2024, a Ukrainian Telegram channel published documentation of improvised mines attached to FPV racing drones, claiming the drones are used to lay the improvised mines by Russian forces. The improvised mines attached to FPV drones were fitted with anti-tank mine fuzes, posing a significant threat to vehicles and personnel along the targeted roads. This tactic aims to rapidly deny vehicle access to the area by installing mines from a distance. However, because these improvised mines are not buried in the ground or properly camouflaged, they are easier to detect. Get the full report: https://lnkd.in/dKgr4sXC

** Large-Scale Drone Swarm Attack Thwarted, Al-Fashir, Sudan ** On September 8, 2024, Sudanese Armed Forces soldiers and their allies were targeted with an attack by a large swarm of small drones deployed as improvised loitering munitions in Al-Fashir, capital of North Darfur, Sudan. A large number of reconnaissance UAVs were also deployed in the attack. The improvised loitering munitions carried an improvised payload that has not been documented before. While armed UAV and loitering munition attacks have become a common TTP in the course of the Sudanese Civil War, an attack involving a swarm of small drones deployed as loitering munitions has not been documented to date, which makes this attack distinctive, marking an additional escalation in the Sudanese arena.
