As we celebrate American independence today - we are also thinking about the 8 Americans that Hamas continues to hold hostage, and all 120 hostages who remain in Gaza. We call for their freedom every day. The eight Americans still held hostage by Hamas include Edan Alexander, Sagui Dekel-Chen, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Omer Neutra, and Keith Siegel. Tragically, Itay Chen, Gadi Haggai, and Judith Weinstein Haggai are presumed dead. #july4 #bringthemhomenow

This week, we were honored to host our partners from Jewish Federations of North America at our programs in Ukraine, supporting the local Jewish community. Despite the ongoing war in Israel, we continue our vital work in Ukraine. Recent intensified attacks have severely impacted civilian infrastructure and energy facilities, leading to extensive damage. Our commitment to aiding the Jewish community in Ukraine remains steadfast.

What an honor! Congratulations to our Partnership2Gether Global Network for winning the Jerusalem Unity Prize earlier this week! The Jewish Agency's Partnership2Gether Global Network won in the Diaspora category, receiving immense recognition for its significant efforts in connecting and strengthening Jewish communities in Israel and around the world! For 30 years, the network has been a living bridge between 70 communities in Israel and 95 Jewish communities worldwide, impacting over a million people each year! Since October 7th, The Jewish people's sense of commitment and solidarity with Israel has only grown stronger. This led to the creation of the Communities2Gether initiative, ensuring no affected community is left behind! Since the start of the war, 25 new partnerships have been formed between Jewish communities worldwide and communities near the Gaza border, thanks to the dedicated and energetic efforts of all the unit's staff! The award ceremony took place at the President's Residence, marking the 10th year of the prize distribution. We are overjoyed to share the inspiring story of Andrey Kozlov, who met with our Chairman, Doron Almog Avrutsky. Doron shared that Andrey was upright and attentive, filled with gratitude and struggling to adjust to the sharp transition from Hamas captivity to the comfort of a hotel, surrounded by family and friends. His mother, Yevgenia, looked at him with endless love—truly a heroic mother. “When I asked Andrey about his plans for the future, he simply said that Israel will always be an inseparable part of him. He wants to continue living here, even with the fear. Just like a year and a half ago, when he decided to come to Israel through the Masa Israel Journey program, he loves Israel today even more. He shared that he always felt his life was a series of coincidences, but now he understands how fortunate he is. He sees the strength and goodness of the people around him and knows it is not to be taken for granted. Andrey arrived in Israel a few months before October 7 through the Jewish Agency's Masa program, driven by true Zionism. Since his abduction, we have awaited his return with great hope, and now he is back—emotional, strong, and happy. I told Andrey, his mother Yevgenia, his father Michael, his brother Dmitry, and his girlfriend Jennifer: Israel is your home, and we will always be here for you. Andrey has been given the gift of life once again. We pray for a brave and noble act that will bring all the hostages home.” Shabbat Shalom and may we hear more good news soon.💙 #JewishAgency #MasaIsrael #WelcomeHomeAndrey #ShabbatShalom #BringThemAllHome

This is what Shavuot looked like in 1935, at our Jerusalem headquarters. Children filled the courtyard for 'Hava'at Bikurim,' a tradition celebrating Shavuot with the first crops of the harvest. As the holiday begins tonight, we hope this Shavuot brings the blessings of joy, homecoming for the hostages, peace and resilience for Israel and the Jewish people.

Yesterday at #AJCGloFo, our Head of North America Dan Elbaum took the stage with AJC CEO Ted Deutch to make a major announcement. We're proud to partner with American Jewish Committee (AJC) to tackle growing antisemitism in U.S. schools and deepen connections between American and Israeli teens. This historic partnership aims to address critical issues facing our communities and promote a stronger Jewish identity, and will include training for hundreds of Shlichim to better confront antisemitism.
