We are proud to announce that EIT Food Accelerator Network alumnus Revive Eco has secured a commercial contract with French biotech SAS PIVERT to scale sustainable coffee-derived palm oil alternatives. Revive Eco was founded by Fergus Moore and Scott Kennedy in 2015 while doing their undergraduate degrees in Entrepreneurship at the University of Strathclyde and working in coffee shops. It is a sustainability-focused company dedicated to transforming waste into valuable resources. With a primary focus on repurposing coffee waste, the company has developed a range of innovative, eco-friendly products that contribute to a circular economy. “We founded Revive Eco on the basis that we wanted to create high-value ingredients from waste materials to support a sustainable future. The patented technology developed by our amazing technical team is something that is revolutionary and has scope to positively impact the future of how a host of products from across the beauty, food and drinks industries are made and developed across the world." - Fergus Moore, Revive Eco Ltd. co-founder Revive Eco’s new contract with SAS PIVERT was recently marked at the UK Embassy in Paris which was attended by key representatives from the The Scottish Government, Scottish Development International, EIT - European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT Food), EIT Food Accelerator Network delivery partner ShakeUp Factory and SAS PIVERT. The new partnership with the European chemistry and biotech specialists will see the teams create coffee oil using surplus coffee from the renowned coffee brand, Costa Coffee. To date, the company has received £1.5m in grants and investments. The news comes as Revive Eco continues its second crowdfunding round, and with just two weeks to go, the team have increased its funding target to £300,000. “With further investors, we can continue to take our product to scale. This funding will enable us to advance our R&D efforts and collaborate with industry leaders like CUBIQ FOODS to co-create game-changing products.” - Sergi M., Co-founder of UOBO This investment marks a significant milestone for UOBO as it accelerates its mission to revolutionise the food industry by offering cutting-edge, egg-free alternatives. With this new capital infusion, the company will further develop its product offerings and expand its B2B operations.
