🌟 What if a simple app could transform the lives of those living with dementia and their caregivers? At Memory Lane Games, we believe in the power of connection and engagement. Our app is designed not just as a tool, but as a bridge—bringing joy, laughter, and meaningful interactions to those affected by Alzheimer's and dementia. Through stimulating visual, reasoning, memory, and speech areas of the brain, our app encourages reminiscence and conversation. It’s more than just games; it’s about creating moments that matter. Imagine a caregiver feeling more relaxed and happy because they have a resource that truly works? In our clinical trial, 92% of caregivers reported feeling more at ease, and 67% said they experienced increased happiness while using our app. These numbers aren't just statistics; they represent real lives being positively impacted by clients integrating our app into their care plans and activity schedules, like at Benevilla in Arizona (pictured). Have you seen the impact of technology in dementia care? We’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Let’s continue this important conversation and share insights that can help others. #DementiaCare #Alzheimers #CaregiverSupport

Building businesses: Bigger, Better, Stronger Board level consultant helping companies innovate scale and grow. Driving strategic imperatives and opportunities.

The A.B.C. (literally) of added value… This week’s trip to visit our valued care partners in the US has provided further insight into how we add value for in-home care agencies and their clients. Talking with Janne Gutierrez and Carlos C. it was good to know that we are already differentiating them in their target markets, helping them win new clients and opening additional sources of referrals. However it’s clear from the insights shared that we can add 'more' value for the families they support and, in turn, for them commercially. Key amongst our discussions were increasing 24/7 support to families, who cannot afford full live-in care and, developing care-giver satisfaction with their own career. These conversations have already fueled new priorities for the Memory Lane Games development road-map and raised our ambitions in already identified product features. From the outset, Memory Lane Games has been a platform designed by its users, and this trip has again underlined the value of listening to those on the front line of Memory Care.  It's been a fabulous week of warm welcomes and great feedback - Oh and the Fajitas were great too! #inhomecare #assistedliving Nate Rhodes STEVE JOHNSTON Kate Lebares Steve Jernigan Sheila Davis Shonda Boudet Sarah Diener Kelly Britton RDN Gimbert Fernandez Lynn Hancock Jacqueline Tse, MHA Carrie Bianco Thomas Herring Kristine Lajeunesse Hank MarshallBarbara MarusiakDavid W. "Caregiving is a journey, not just a role—one that requires as much support for the caregiver as it does for the person receiving care." In the world of dementia care, we often focus on the needs of those living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. But what about the caregivers—the unsung heroes who provide love, patience, and support every single day? Their well-being is just as crucial, and it’s time we start the conversation around how we can better support them. At Memory Lane Games, we’ve seen firsthand the transformative power of connection and engagement. Our app not only stimulates the cognitive functions of those living with dementia but also serves as a vital resource for caregivers. With features designed to encourage reminiscence and foster meaningful conversations, we aim to create moments of joy and laughter that benefit both parties. The results speak for themselves: 92% of caregivers reported feeling more relaxed after using our app, and 83% said it made their loved ones laugh. These moments of connection can be a lifeline, especially during challenging times like sundowning or wandering. I invite you to watch this interview with CW7 Arizona (KAZT-TV) that delves deeper into the importance of caring for caregivers while providing excellent care for those with dementia: [https://lnkd.in/ejsP8X2v). Let’s open the floor—what experiences do you have in supporting caregivers? How do you find balance in your caregiving journey? Share your thoughts in the comments, and if you found this post helpful, please give it a like or repost it to spread the message. Together, we can create a supportive community that uplifts both caregivers and those they care for. #DementiaCaregiver #Engagement #inhomecare https://lnkd.in/eXzcevSM

💡 How can a simple quiz game make a big difference in dementia care? I recently had the opportunity to speak with Bruce Elliott, CEO and Co-Founder of Memory Lane Games, about how their app is helping caregivers and loved ones engage with individuals living with dementia. Designed by a team with personal experience in dementia care, these games encourage meaningful conversations and reminiscence—while avoiding the frustration that often comes with cognitive decline. The app’s simplicity is its strength. Their 2023 clinical trials revealed: (1) 92% of caregivers felt more relaxed (2) 83% noticed more laughter I think we can all agree- caregivers are in desperate need of laughter! The Mayo Clinic summed it up perfectly, calling Memory Lane Games a “simple yet scalable solution to impact millions of those living with dementia". In this episode of the The Dementia Research Project, we explore not just the app’s impact, but also the broader digital health landscape, the potential of generative AI, and Memory Lane Games exciting partnerships across Asia Pacific. Listening to the presentation of the World Alzheimer's Report 2024 published by Alzheimer's Disease International today I was struck by several of their findings: The report highlights critical shifts in global attitudes towards dementia, and underscores the importance of human connection in the lives of those affected by dementia. 1. Alarmingly, 80% of the general public and 65% of healthcare professionals, still believe dementia is a natural part of aging. *Newsflash* it isn't. This misinformation can delay essential diagnoses and support for families. 2. The Power of Community: The report offers hope, with over 90% of people recognizing that we can improve the lives of those living with dementia through medical diagnosis, social support, and meaningful engagement. This reinforces our mission at Memory Lane Games to spark conversations that foster connection and reduce isolation. 3. Family Impact: Sadly, 43% of carers have stopped inviting friends into their homes, and 47% have turned down social invitations. Stigma not only affects individuals with dementia but also their caregivers. Our platform is designed to bring families and friends together, providing moments of joy and shared memories through simple games which are shown to have a therapeutic effect. If you know someone living with or caring for someone with dementia, get in touch, visit, and even better, download Memory Lane Games and take it with you! Together, we can make every conversation count. 🐘 💙 #TimeToActOnDementia #TimeToActOnAlzheimers https://lnkd.in/eMjZ5CWb
