The countdown to Clairfield’s 20th anniversary celebration in September continues… As we fast-forward from 2004 to today, one sector has exploded over the last two decades — tech, software, and digital. Now every company knows it needs a tech strategy in its planning so mergers and acquisitions have become increasingly important across all industries. As this sector continues to be a beacon of growth and innovation central to every company’s strategy, it’s hard to imagine what technology will be available and imperative in 2044. At Clairfield we have a crossborder deal team of 60 dealmakers specialising in the tech sector. Technology plays a crucial role in almost every transaction we advise and it has spread to other sectors such as distribution, fintech, industry, and energy. Over the past two decades, we have seen some significant developments in business trends such as the growth of the metaverse, IOT, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. PEs have also increased their penetration supporting aggressive buy & build strategies, particularly towards software. Great turnout today for the final day of our Europe-APAC meeting of the minds! Hitoshi Ohno from our office in Singapore gave an illuminating talk on the three categories of PE investors in the Asian PE market, moderated by Yasuyuki (Luke) Kita. Warming up for our 20 year anniversary! That’s right, Clairfield will soon be celebrating 20 incredible years and to set the stage for our celebrations in 2024, our Dutch team hosted private equity clients and their families at a skating party at Laren Winter Village last week.   With entertainment on the ice by a former Dutch junior skating champion and Cinderella herself on hand to delight the little ones, it was a great opportunity to connect with our PE clients and have fun together.
