To create development opportunities for rural Himalayan communities

About us

Aarohi is an organization for rural development that aims to respond to the needs of the people of Kumaon. The word ‘Aarohi’ means ascendance or growth: the growth of thought, creativity, and harmony. It was with this inspiring thought that Aarohi was established in 1992 with a vision to create ‘an equitable society’. Nestled in the picturesque village of Satoli, in Nainital district, our current efforts are focused on health, education, and livelihoods, with a history of also having worked in forestry. Women and children are at the heart of our integrated development work.

📢 Aarohi's 32nd Foundation Day and Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM) Highlights! 🌿 On August 17, 2024, Aarohi celebrated its 32nd Foundation Day and AGBM at Aarohi Bal Sansar School premises. The event featured the inauguration of a new school bus, led by our esteemed chief guest, Mr. Harish Chandra Singh Negi in presence of the Executive Director. This was followed by a tree plantation drive in Naulikan, led by Head, NRM and his team paying a heartfelt tribute to the late Oona Ji, followed by vibrant cultural performances by our students. Our friends at Margshala raised awareness about the fellowship and it's impact on reducing out migration. The AGBM approved key proposals, including the balance sheet for FY 2023-24 and revised organizational rules. The convention also reviewed Aarohi's impactful programs in health, education, and livelihood. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this event! #community #treeplanting #communityengagement #aarohi #sustainabledevelopment #nainital Pankaj Tewari | Brijesh Kumar | Community Livelihoods NRM
