We’re delighted to share that AGNIT Semiconductors Pvt Ltd, India’s first startup dedicated to advancing Gallium Nitride (GaN) semiconductor technology, has raised $3.5 million from 3one4 Capital, with participation from Zephyr Peacock India. 💰 AGNIT, an integrated device manufacturer (IDM), is pioneering GaN technology to target a crucial gap in India's energy and telecommunications infrastructure, historically reliant on imports. The company’s focus on GaN positions it at the intersection of global trends in AI, 5G, and power electronics, promising both national impact and global scalability. AGNIT has developed differentiated intellectual property through 15 years of R&D at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). Its founding team of seven PhD holders brings deep expertise across the semiconductor value chain, from materials to devices and ASICs. The company will use the new funds to scale production and expand commercial operations, with plans to enter the consumer electronics and electric vehicle markets, focusing on fast-charging solutions and targeting 100,000 chip sales this year.
