Significance of Digitech Events: Events like ET Government Digitech Conclave create momentum for innovation and shape the narrative for future technologies. 2. India’s Tech Growth Journey: In 1992, India’s software exports stood at ₹50 crore. Today, IT services exports exceed $200 billion, highlighting the country’s strength in services. 3. Capitalizing on Digital Infrastructure: India has developed extensive digital infrastructure, including UPI and other platforms. This infrastructure must be leveraged to create globally competitive tech products. The vision of Viksit Bharat and a $35 trillion economy can only be realized if technology benefits the larger public, ensuring financial inclusion through insurance, pensions, and other services. 4. STPI’s Domain-Specific CoEs: STPI is supporting 1,500+ startups across India and operates 24 domain specific Centres of Entrepreneurship (CoEs) across the country, offering 360-degree support to startups. 5. Government’s Focus on Software Products: The Government of India is prioritizing software product development through initiatives like the AI Mission. The mission aims to provide GPU infrastructure to startups, fostering real product innovation in deep tech. This will help India move to establish a strong software product ecosystem. Director General STPI Shri Arvind Kumar, during the inaugural session of the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave 2025, greeted the dignitaries on the dais and addressed the audience, highlighting the following key points: ➡️STPI has a strong presence in Odisha with four operational centers in Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Balasore, and Berhampur. ➡️ Across India, STPI has 24 Centers of Entrepreneurship (CoEs), providing startups with 360-degree support, including Seed funding, Consumer connectivity, Mentorship and other essential assistance ➡️ In Odisha, there are four CoEs catalysing entrepreneurship in the region i.e VarCoE in Bhubaneswar, ESDM CoE in Bhubaneswar, Emtek CoE in Bhubaneswar, A satellite center of Emtek CoE in Rourkela. ➡️ Two new centers have been established at Koraput and Jajpur. These centers features: State-of-the-art IT infrastructure, Plug-and-play facilities, Raw incubation spaces for small IT companies, Well-equipped discussion rooms. Further STPI ensures strong industry connections through platforms like Bengaluru Tech Summit TiE Global Summit etc. for the incubated companies. ➡️ Shri Kumar also expressed his gratitude to Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary, Electronics & IT Dept., Govt. of Odisha for his support in establishing the new centers at Koraput and Jajpur. Shri Arvind Kumar, Director General, STPI addressed the startups and innovators at the 1st NE Summit in Kohima and highlighted on following points: 1. He emphasized that STPI is now fostering innovation and nurturing startups, particularly in the deep-tech sector. He informed that while STPI is committed to providing the necessary facilities, state governments may utilize maximize resources of STPI for the benefit of their regions. 2. He spoke about the ongoing "second revolution" in technology. Unlike the earlier era where computing and coding were restricted to a select few, today, anyone with a strong idea can leverage AI tools to make impactful contributions to technology and highlighted the success of India's digital initiatives, he lauded the government for the robust digital public infrastructure, citing over more than 16 billion monthly transactions through UPI as a prime example of its effectiveness. 3. He outlined three emerging trends shaping the current tech landscape as follows: i. Deep-Tech Startups: A growing number of startups are venturing into deep-tech domains, and he expressed optimism that states like Nagaland could emerge as leaders in this field. ii. Tier 2 and Tier 3 Cities as Digital Hubs: He observed an increasing number of startups originating from Tier 2 and Tier 3 Cities as Digital Hubs signalling a broader entrepreneurial wave across India. iii. Manufacturing Growth: He underlined the government's focus on strengthening the manufacturing sector through initiatives like the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, urging Nagaland to capitalize on its strengths, such as high literacy rates and a young, dynamic population. DG STPI concluded by encouraging stakeholders to leverage STPI's facilities and resources to drive innovation and growth, positioning Nagaland as a key player in the emerging tech and manufacturing ecosystems in the country.
