💥 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐈𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 💥 As leaders—and as team members—sometimes we all lose our cool. We’re told to stay calm and collected at all times. But let’s face it: in the high-pressure world of startups, 𝗳𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀. Deadlines, last-minute changes, unmet expectations... it’s only human to feel anger. And, sometimes, showing that intensity can actually be constructive. But here’s the key: it’s not about ignoring those moments. It’s about how we handle them afterward. When frustration flares, a few things matter: 1. 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐎𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩: If I lose my cool, I own it. Apologizing and acknowledging the moment creates trust and shows others that leaders are human too. 2. 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐈𝐭 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: Frustration often reveals a gap—something we care deeply about but that’s not hitting the mark. Instead of focusing on people, I focus on processes or goals that need improvement. 3. 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐈𝐭 𝐚 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧: Anger, when channeled thoughtfully, is a reminder of the high standards we set. Instead of bottling it up, we can address issues directly and move forward with clarity. In the end, losing your temper isn’t the end of the world.
