We recently had the pleasure of hosting a 3-day exposure visit to Auroville in Tamil Nadu, organized by Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG) with Auroville Consulting as knowledge partners. A group of 15 experienced professionals had the opportunity to learn about sustainable living practices and explore the innovative initiatives implemented by and in Auroville. During the course of this Policy Writing Workshop participants focused on developing effective policies related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable development. Experienced external facilitators from CAG guided the group through the policy writing process, sharing their expertise and insights. It was an honour for Auroville Consulting to be invited as knowledge partners to demonstrate what has been implemented in Auroville based on Tamil Nadu’s policies, and compare that with what has been possible in Pondicherry. We believe this collaboration has contributed to promoting sustainable practices and addressing energy challenges. The exposure visit provided valuable learning experiences for all participants, and we look forward to future opportunities for collaboration with CAG and Auroville. Forget traffic jams! The Auroville roundabout project didn't just improve aesthetics, it fostered social interaction and visual appeal to harmonise the chaos. Creative design approaches were used in the roundabout project, emphasizing visual appeal and encouraging interactions among individuals Engaged children from Auroville Schools in art sessions to gather their ideas for the bus waiting area. The sessions encouraged kids to express their preferences, focusing on elements like play, time, and space. This collaborative effort ensured that children's voices were integral to the design process, enhancing community engagement and experience Initiatives were undertaken to upgrade conditions for animals at foster homes and shelters, promoting animal welfare and safer environments.
