Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the 11th edition of the Spiritz Conclave and Achievers' Awards 2024, presented by Allied Blenders & Distillers Ltd. and powered by Pernod Ricard. Kudos to Shalini Kumar and Bishan Kumar of Spiritz Magazine for organising such a fantastic event! This year, the #alcobev industry in India is set to cross a milestone—over 400M cases sold! 🎉 The day was filled with insightful discussions on the industry's role in shaping a "Viksit Bharat," with panels diving deep into topics like #investment, #employment, and #innovation under the Make in India agenda. One of the sessions that stood out to me was the conversation on *Navigating Challenges for Manufacturing and Importing Alcohol Brands*, featuring industry leaders like Rajnish Singh, Raja Mukherji, Sumedh Singh Mandla, Nita Kapoor, Suresh Menon. From compliance and licensing to policy impacts on small and large importers, the session covered it all. A key highlight was Nita Kapoor's take on surrogate marketing and brand extensions—a timely topic as regulations continue to evolve. Post the discussions, the floor turned into a cocktail haven, with brands like #JackDaniels , #ZoyaGin , #RedElan Group, #EstuaryWater, #Suntori, #OreginGin showcasing their best. As the industry continues to evolve, I’m excited about how BottleShop. is contributing to this transformation not only in retail but across the entire supply chain —empowering both consumers and businesses at every level of the industry. It was a day full of learning, networking, and inspiration. Looking forward to seeing how the insights gained here will shape the future of our industry! #Alcobev #Innovation #ViksitBharat #SpiritzConclave #AI #BeverageIndustry #Networking #FutureOfLiquor

#Jaipur’s Liquor Crisis – A Wake-Up Call During the Festive Season Following Delhi’s excise portal meltdown, Jaipur’s liquor industry is facing a major crisis. A 60% drop in supply has left over 3,000 retailers and bars unable to restock, potentially causing losses of ₹400 crore over 10 days. As Vikram Singh, a liquor retailer in Jaipur shared, "This couldn’t have come at a worse time, with Diwali approaching. Customers are frustrated, and we’re losing out on crucial festive sales." Festive Season Impact The festive season is critical for liquor businesses, with Diwali being the peak period for sales. Liquor retailers depend heavily on these months to hit their annual targets. With the supply chain down, businesses are missing out on the year’s most profitable period. Bars and restaurants are also struggling to meet demand, turning away frustrated customers during a time when footfall should be at its highest. The Financial Fallout On average, ₹40 crore worth of liquor is ordered in Jaipur daily. The current system glitch, which has stalled supply for 10 days, has led to an estimated loss of ₹400 crore. This situation not only affects retailers and bars but also creates significant revenue losses for the government, which relies heavily on liquor excise duties. The Need for Change Jaipur’s crisis underscores the fragility of the current system. Reliance on outdated, centralized software is causing breakdowns when businesses need it most. The liquor industry across India faces similar challenges due to aging technology that struggles to meet today’s demands, leaving retailers and bars in a vulnerable position. How BottleShop Can Help At BottleShop, we aim to prevent such issues. Our AI-powered platform ensures real-time inventory tracking, automated reordering, and seamless compliance, allowing liquor retailers to operate smoothly, especially during critical times like the festive season. With our solution, businesses can avoid stockouts and keep up with demand, ensuring uninterrupted operations and maximizing sales during peak periods. Jaipur’s crisis is a wake-up call for the industry. It’s time to adopt smarter, more resilient systems that protect businesses and revenues during the busiest times of the year. #LiquorSupplyCrisis #JaipurLiquorIndustry #FestiveSeasonImpact #SupplyChainTech #AIinRetail #DiwaliSales #FutureOfLiquor #BottleShopTech

#AndhraPradesh’s New #LiquorPolicy: Unlocking Opportunities for Retailers and Investors The liquor landscape in Andhra Pradesh is transforming with the new 2024 policy. Effective from October 12, this change modernizes retail and benefits private retailers and consumers. <> Key Changes in the Policy 1. **Privatization of Retail**: 3,736 outlets will now be privately operated, replacing government stores. 340 shops are reserved for the toddy-tapper community, with 3,396 available for general licensing. This boosts competition and operational efficiency. 2. **Affordable Pricing & Premium Brands**: Liquor will be priced at ₹99 for 180 ml, with low-quality brands phased out for premium ones. This ensures quality at better prices, reducing illegal sales. 3. **Retailer Margins**: Retailers will enjoy a 20% margin on the issue price across all categories, far better than margins in most of India. 4. **Premium Stores**: 12 high-end liquor stores will be introduced in urban centers, enhancing customer experiences with premium brands. <> Industry Impact - **Revenue Boost**: The policy is expected to generate ₹5,500 crore annually, benefiting both the state and retailers. - **Stock Market Surge**: Shares of major liquor companies like United Spirits and United Breweries have surged due to expected higher sales and profitability. <> A Golden Opportunity for Retailers With 20% margins and growing demand, this is a unique chance for retailers. BottleShop. offers AI-driven tools to streamline inventory, compliance, and customer engagement. Reach out to learn how we can help you thrive in this evolving market!

**Delhi’s #Excise Portal Crisis: A Major Blow to #Retailers, #Bars, and #LiquorBrands** For over a month, Delhi’s liquor retailers have been facing a significant challenge: the excise department’s portal, which is essential for placing orders and managing stock, has been malfunctioning. With 684 retail stores and over 1,000 bars and restaurants relying on this system, the entire #supplychain is feeling the impact. Here’s how the crisis is affecting everyone involved: <> Retailers Facing Stock-outs: Liquor vends can’t replenish their shelves due to the broken portal, and many are close to running out of stock. For customers, this means walking into stores only to find their favourite drinks unavailable, which damages customer loyalty and leads to lost sales. <> Bars and Restaurants Struggling to Serve Customers: With over 1,000 on-premise establishments depending on the same system, bars and restaurants are finding it difficult to keep their drinks flowing. In an industry where availability and service are key, running out of popular products is bad news for both businesses and guests. <> Emerging Brands Are Taking a Hit: For newer liquor brands, this malfunction is a huge setback. As one brand founder mentioned, "Distribution and availability are crucial, and with orders not being placed, it’s a massive loss for brands trying to grow." For smaller brands with fewer labels, losing even a month of sales is financially painful, especially given the high costs of registration and market entry. <> Compliance Challenges: Beyond stock management, the portal also handles compliance reporting. Without it, retailers risk penalties for not filing mandatory reports, adding legal stress to an already difficult situation. This issue highlights the cracks in the current system. The reliance on a single, outdated portal has left the entire industry vulnerable. From retailers to bars to emerging brands, everyone is affected when the system goes down. The liquor industry urgently needs modern, reliable technology to prevent these kinds of disruptions in the future. At BottleShop, we believe in a smarter, tech-driven approach. Our AI-powered platform helps retailers manage stock in real time, automates reordering, and ensures compliance without relying on a single portal. It’s time for the liquor industry to adopt solutions that keep businesses running smoothly, even when external systems fail. This crisis is a reminder that the future of liquor retail lies in embracing better, more resilient technology. #LiquorIndustry #ExcisePortalCrisis #RetailTech #AIinRetail #EmergingBrands #BottleShopTech

Nobody will remember, when you: - ran an inventory report smoothly. - sent out the weekly sales report on time. - manage permits, licenses, and certifications with ease. People will remember, when you: - accidentally flagged “Out of Stock” on the best-selling beer. - missed a low stock alert during the festival season. - delivered the wrong projections.
