About us
CAPED – Cancer Awareness, Prevention and Early Detection, is an NGO established for the dissemination of information and awareness creation about the latest developments in the field of cancer. CAPED – Cancer Awareness, Prevention and Early Detection Trust has chosen the cause of women-related cancers with a focus on cervical cancer. Our mission is to identify and create different arenas to spread awareness and knowledge among women and empower them to take action regarding their own health. Why Cervical Cancer? The ‘preventable’ cancer Cervical cancer kills more women in India than anywhere in the world. It need not. Cervical cancer is one of India’s many healthcare ironies. It is a disease that experts say can largely be prevented. Yet, in India, it affects 1,32,000 women each year of whom 72,000 women lose their battle with it, according to the Cervical Cancer-Free Coalition. With greater awareness, it is possible to miligate the damage done by this continuously-exploding bomb if not completely dismantle it.

International Women’s Day 2025: Beyond Celebration, Towards Action ------ They say, “Behind every great man is a woman.” But we say, “Behind every thriving society is a woman who’s healthy, empowered, and unstoppable.” Yet, one preventable disease kills a woman in every 2 minutes. Cervical cancer—a disease we can eliminate with screening, vaccination, and access to care. This Women’s Day, let’s redefine empowerment—not just in boardrooms, but in clinics, in policies, in fields, and access to healthcare. What if we redefined empowerment? - Empowerment is a woman who knows her body. - Empowerment is a health system that prioritizes screening. - Empowerment is getting vaccinated. Imagine a world where NO woman dies from a preventable disease. That world starts with action—TODAY. - Get screened. - Talk about HPV prevention. - Get vaccinated. - Advocate for equitable access to healthcare. Tag a woman you admire and remind her: “Your health is your power.” This Women’s Day, let’s not just celebrate—let’s act. #InternationalWomensDay2025 #IWD2025 #HealthIsPower #CervicalCancerElimination #EquityInHealth #WomenInHealth #PreventionIsPower Quality, Equity, and Inclusiveness (QEI) in Public Health | India HIV/AIDS Alliance | American Cancer Society | Indian Cancer Society | Association of Healthcare Providers - AHPI (India) | CAPED India | Centre for Health Innovation and Policy (CHIP) Foundation | Chase India | ECHO India | Empower School of Health | EngenderHealth | Foundation for Survival of Women and Children | #GullaabSevafoundation | Health Systems Transformation Platform | Jivika Healthcare | JSI | John Snow India Pvt.
