As the Founder and CEO of Cheelizza, India's first vegetarian pizza chain, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of online food marketplaces like Zomato. These platforms have undeniably revolutionized the way customers order food while also offering unprecedented convenience and a plethora of dining choices right at your fingertips. However, they also pose significant hurdles for restaurateurs, to be more specific, they restrict our direct customer engagement and data access. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: The core of our challenge lies in the inability to connect directly with our customers. Food marketplaces, while beneficial for their broad reach and convenience, have become gatekeepers of consumer interaction. They hold valuable customer data, including purchasing habits, preferences, and feedback, which they do not share with the restaurants listed on their platforms. This creates a barrier that prevents us from building direct relationships with our customers, understanding their needs, and tailoring our offerings to better serve them. At Cheelizza, we believe that the relationship between a restaurant and its patrons should extend beyond transactional interactions. We want to know our customers, engage with them, and create personalized experiences that keep them coming back. The lack of access to customer data through these platforms limits our ability to foster such meaningful connections and hampers our ability to innovate and enhance our service. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥: The "Cheelizza Khao, Dubai Jao" Campaign To address this challenge, we decided to take a proactive approach. We launched the "Cheelizza Khao, Dubai Jao" campaign, an initiative designed to incentivize customers to register directly with us. The idea was simple yet powerful: by signing up through our dedicated campaign, customers not only get a chance to enjoy our delectable vegetarian pizzas but also stand a chance to win an all-expenses-covered trip to Dubai. The campaign has been a resounding success. In less than a month, we have seen over 3,000 sign-ups, and two lucky winners have already redeemed their trip to Dubai. This initiative has not only helped us gather valuable customer data but also strengthened our direct engagement with our patrons. The enthusiasm and excitement generated by the campaign have been incredible, showcasing the potential of innovative customer engagement strategies.

    🌟 Celebrating Success and Embracing Challenges 🌟 When we launched Cheelizza, India's first chain of vegetarian pizzas, we were stepping into uncharted territory. Many industry experts doubted our vision, given that pizza, especially in the West, is often associated with meat. Yet, we believed in the demand for delicious, innovative vegetarian options and built a sustainable brand that resonated with so many of you. Inspired by this success, we decided to take on another exciting challenge: creating a pure vegetarian biryani brand. Despite the prevailing belief that biryani is predominantly prepared with meat, we were confident in our mission. Today, I'm incredibly proud to announce that Biryani Can, India's first Veg biryani brand, has successfully completed 20 months of operation! 🎉 In just under two years, we've grown exponentially and are now serving over 15,000 veg biryanis each month in Mumbai alone. This journey hasn't been easy, but our commitment to quality and our passion for innovation have driven us forward. We're thrilled to see such a positive response and are excited to continue growing and serving our community. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way.
