"Thread of Thoughts" - Leaf 2 - "Reflection on Progress & Growth - IWD 2025" As we celebrate International Women’s Day #IWD, it’s a moment to honour and reflect on the achievements of remarkable women across all walks of life. Just two decades ago, many professional fields were overwhelmingly male dominated, sometimes for valid reasons, but often due to systemic barriers that held women back. Today, that landscape has changed significantly, thanks to rising education levels, institutional support, and most importantly, the courage of women who challenged the status quo. Their determination has propelled us closer to a world where opportunity is based on talent, not gender.   However, true progress lies not just in opening doors for women but in fostering an environment where men and women can compete, collaborate, and celebrate success as equals. That is the future we must continue to work toward and we believe to continue building this culture at Chiratae.   What I Believe In-   • Respect and collaboration are the foundation of a thriving workplace.   • "Standing for and standing by each other" should transcend gender.   • Opportunity should be based on merit, ensuring that everyone has an equal platform to grow and succeed.    In recent conversations with colleagues and accomplished women leaders, one thought deeply resonated with me: “It’s not just about creating opportunities for women; it’s about cultivating a culture where everyone feels valued, empowered, and able to share in the rewards of success.”    This Women’s Day let’s celebrate not just women but the power of unity, respect, and collaboration. Having worked in organisations where women have always been visible, engaged, and leading, I’ve observed something fundamental: true inclusion isn’t about only quotas or policies; it’s also about culture. At Chiratae, that culture is built on merit, where opportunities and responsibilities are distributed based on capability, not gender. And when that happens—when decisions are truly meritocratic—the presence of women in leadership, decision-making, and high-stakes roles becomes a natural outcome, not an engineered one. Over the years, I’ve seen more and more women join, take charge, and shape outcomes in ways that move beyond traditional narratives. When an organization ensures that hiring is purely merit-based, that responsibilities are equally shared, and that leadership is a space where everyone competes on intelligence, ownership, and results, the conversation shifts. It’s no longer about whether women should have a seat at the table—it’s about what they bring to it. Yet, inclusion is also about sensitivity to the nuances that shape working environments. It’s in the way safety is embedded as a priority, not a checkbox—whether it’s structured travel support or something as simple (yet profound) as a manager saying, “Take the morning flight instead; your safety matters.” These are the decisions that reflect a deeper commitment, one that sees women not just as professionals, but as individuals whose well-being is integral to their performance and growth. For me, one of the most powerful aspects of working in such an environment is that conversations—on strategy, business, leadership—are open. There is no off-limits topic, no fear of being judged for speaking up. And that’s what equity truly looks like: a workplace where talent speaks louder than bias, and where progress isn’t about making space, but about recognising that space was always meant to be shared.
