Wrangler, Social partner to launch a series of live music events across India This collaboration will see the two brands co-hosting musical performances featuring top rap and hip-hop artists in six major cities, running from October to December 2024 Denim brand Wrangler, operated by Bengaluru-based ace turtle in India has partnered with Social, an urban hangout destination, to bring a vibrant series of live musical events to audiences across India, a release by the company said on Monday. The “Creator Economy” in India is expected to reach INR 3,375 crore by 2026 Data shows that in India the average consumer is spending 4.4 hours on social media every day. The influencer market is growing significantly so how much are they actually making? According to a report published by professional services network EY and Big Bang Social, the creator Economy is growing at a whopping 18% CAGR. Let’s dive in - 1.⁠ ⁠The EY State of Influencer Marketing in India Report, 2024 provides us with a breakdown of the number of influencers and the categories they belong to based on their number of followers. Around 7000+ fall into the mega category with over 1M followers.  95,000+ influencers are in the Macro category with 100,000-1M followers. The largest chunk of around 500,000 influencers are in the Nano category with 100 to 10,000 followers. 2.⁠ ⁠The Kofluence 2024 Report tells us that in 2023, the Macro influencers earned between INR 60,000-1.6 lakh per Instagram reel. 3.⁠ ⁠Mega Influencers earned between Rs. 3-5 lakhs per Instagram reel. 4.⁠ ⁠Celebrities (who are influencers by virtue of their external careers and fame) earned between Rs. 7-15 lakhs.) 5.⁠ ⁠Creator earnings/rates are expected to grow at 10%-15% year on year now. 6.⁠ ⁠The EY report stated that 56 per cent of brands have already invested more than 2% on influencer marketing. 70% of brands plan to keep their influencer marketing budget the same or increase it in 2024, with half planning to increase it by up to 10% 7.⁠ ⁠Fashion and lifestyle and beauty brands are currently driving the market, while Automobile, E-commerce and FMCG are expected to increase their spending on influencer marketing the most. Influencer marketing seems to be an unstoppable force, which despite its meteoric rise has faced some unexpected marketing problems in its infancy which required some out of the box thinking to solve.
