The deployment will occur in six to seven telecom circles. Vi plans to set up 75,000 5G sites in 3 years. These areas currently have equipment from Huawei and ZTE.   Nokia and Ericsson's equipment will boost the telco’s 4G capabilities and raise the 4G population coverage to 90 percent in the next 12 months from the current 77 percent.   The company would prioritize replacing Chinese equipment that has reached the end of its operational life. As long as the equipment works, it will remain in the network. #telecom #equipment #operational #5g #network

The telco has communicated with the government and is currently awaiting a response. On September 27, TRAI released a consultation paper proposing the administrative allocation of satellite broadband spectrum. Starlink, Amazon’s Kuiper, and OneWeb-Eutelsat support the proposal. #spectrum #government #satellite #telco #proposal

He clarified that this does not imply that the spectrum is free of charge. Instead, the cost and its formula will be determined by TRAI, not by individual stakeholders. #communications #allocated #services #auction #spectrum #satellite

𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐜 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐌’𝐬 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭 𝟔𝐆 Broadband India Forum has sent a dissent note on the final report on the spectrum roadmap for 6G issued by the chair of the drafting group on October 13. BIF suggested that the 6GHz band (5925-7125 MHz) should be allocated for WLAN applications, aligning with global best practices and ensuring affordable, high-quality broadband access for underserved communities. BIF emphasized that DoT had previously constituted a National Committee comprising various stakeholders to assess the spectrum requirements and explore the possibility of license-exempt usage of the lower 6GHz band (5925-6425 MHz). The committee’s report recognized the growing global trend toward delicensing the 6GHz band for Wi-Fi services, with 84 countries already adopting this approach. #spectrum #broadband #stakeholders #roadmap #services
