On this day, women fast from sunrise to moonrise, praying for the long life, health, and prosperity of their husbands. The festival reflects the deep-rooted bond of love and sacrifice in a marital relationship, showcasing the strength of tradition and togetherness. The day is marked by various rituals—women dress in vibrant traditional attire, apply mehendi (henna), and gather to listen to the Karwa Chauth katha (story) that narrates the significance of the day. The fast is only broken after sighting the moon, where the husband offers water to his wife, symbolizing his support and care. Karwa Chauth is not only a celebration of marriage but also a testament to cultural values that promote unity, love, and dedication.
