Art is a great way of relieving stress, enhancing well-being, channeling inner creativity, and bringing new ideas to the world and also works as an effective tool in helping children understand about well-being. With this in mind, DC’s Student Well-Being Programme hosted an art competition on the theme of #WhatMakesMeHappy both online, and in schools across Delhi on World Mental Health Day (Oct 10). The students showcased immense talent when creating their art, showcasing a wide range of things that makes them happy at home and at their schools. The students used art to showcase their understanding of joy and things that they can do to achieve joy in doing simple things such as spending time with loved ones etc. The TeenBook Student Wellness program is first-of-its-kind integrated school wellbeing programme, currently being implemented in Delhi and Bihar, which aims to identify and address mental well-being challenges early and equipping students, educators and parents with the right tools and knowledge to help address and prevent those challenges towards a happy, health future for our children. By prioritizing both student and teacher well-being, we are building healthier futures together. #DevelopmentConsortium #NGO #SocialImpact #India #Awareness #MentalHealthAwareness #WorldMentalHealthDay #Community #MakingaDifference#WorldMentalHealthDay #TeacherWellness #MentalHealthMatters #MannSeHealthy

Teacher well-being is integral to student well-being. That is why the DC’s Student Well-Being Programme is also working on developing teacher’s capacities, not just for their students, but also for themselves. Because when teachers are stress free, they will create better learning environments for the students. Meet Project Streeksha Mentor - Ruchi Rai - who has been helping scholars of DC’s Project Streeksha communicate better and giving them an opportunity to develop and grow forward with confidence and self-reassurance. At Streeksha, we are helping bridge the gap between education and professional independence for young women through a scholarship programme. But we understand that it needs to be much more than financial support. It needs a nurturing ecosystem, which we are trying to build through support of mentors like Ruchi Rai, to help our scholars build the skills they need to thrive in the professional world. And as Ms Rai points in her video, a lot more needs to be done to build on this front and we seek more mentors to join our cause. If you are interested in becoming a mentor for the Streeksha programme, please comment or write to us at info@devcons.org #DevelopmentConsortium #NGO #SocialImpact #India #AdolescentHealth #Education #Awareness #Equality #Community #MakingaDifference #SRHR #SDG3 #SDG4 #SDG5 #womenempowerment #womenseducation #girlchild
