Dosti Se Bana Dost! From an unexpected meeting at UC Berkeley in the year 2015 to transforming Early Childhood Education in India, Sneha Sheth and Sindhuja Jeyabal’s friendship laid the foundation for Dost Education. Their mission to enable school readiness for every child in India and empower low-income families has reached millions, across 6 states in India, and continues to grow. But the heart of Dost Education isn't just in the vision of its founders—it's in the passion of our dedicated team who work with families and enable them to get their children a better start in life. In our journey over the last 7 years we have worked with over 600,000 children. Here is what our team members had to say about Dost: "The collaborative spirit at Dost makes every challenge surmountable. We are not just colleagues; we are a family working towards a common goal." - Aronee Ghosh, Director, Research and Operations "Working with Dost has been an incredibly fulfilling journey. Seeing the impact of our work on families and children across India is a daily reminder of why we do what we do." - Manjeet Singh, Partnership and Operations Manager "Every day, we're driven by the stories of parents who, through our programs, have been able to give their children a better start in life. It’s these stories that keep us motivated and passionate." - Kamla Bisht, Senior Associate, Operations, Uttarakhand See the full interview of the founders: https://lnkd.in/ddasJ6BU #DostSeBanaDost #BaateinSnehKhel #DostEducation #FoudnersDay #EarlyChildhoodEducation #TalkCarePlay #TransformingEducation

Play can be a key enabler for children to learn especially in the years 0-3 , was a insight I learnt reading about play when UNICEF and The LEGO Foundation worked to declare 11th June as the #InternationalDayOfPlay. Was so insightful to put this panel of experts together working on the intersection of #Play and #Learn and discuss #BateinSnehKhel is the best form of learning at home.
Unlocking Potential Through Play In a world that often prioritizes structured learning, it's crucial to remember the transformative power of play in early childhood education. On the first-ever International Day of Play, Dost Education joined hands with Lively Minds, QUEST Alliance, Rocket Learning, and EkStep Foundation to celebrate the magic of play and its role in building essential life skills in children. Wishing devina neema all the best as she begins a new chapter at Harvard! Continue your amazing journey in education. From all of us at Dost Education, take care and keep inspiring.
Dream coming true!!🎊 I’m elated to share that I will be starting my Master’s in Education at Harvard Graduate School of Education! Walking around Harvard, seeing the historic buildings, experiencing the campus environment and meeting some of the amazing people from the class of 2024 for the first time was incredibly inspiring and welcoming. I’m filled with excitement and anticipation for this upcoming year. Having never been out of India before, landing in Boston was a surreal experience. The different culture, beautiful walkways, parks, the Charles river, diverse people, experiences at Harvard make me eager to call this city my home. I can’t wait to meet so many more people and, of course, ‘Learn to Change the World!’ ✨

At Dost Education, we're committed to transforming parenting behaviors for the better! Our CEO & Co-founder, Sneha Sheth, shares insightful thoughts on the challenges and importance of promoting non-violent discipline. "Why is it so hard for parents to change their actions if the research is clear?" It's a common question. The key lies in making positive behaviors the easier choice. At Dost Education, we introduce playfulness and connection to foster responsive parent-child relationships, making nonviolent discipline more accessible. #PositiveParenting #EarlyChildhoodEducation #NonViolentDiscipline #BehaviorChange #DostEducation #BaateinSnehKhel
The other day I was speaking with an ecosystem colleague about data we're seeing around behavior change of parents who use our program. We were talking about how some behaviors are easier to change than others - introducing play into a parenting routine has way better uptake, than say, reducing the use of violent disciplinary tactics. The colleague thoughtfully asked, "why is it so hard for them to change their actions if the research is clear?" We hear this a lot :) When you take the judgment out of the situation, you can see it more clearly. Of course, making the logical argument is never enough, and any of us who have tried to change our own habits can attest. We have to make nonviolent discipline the easier option - and that is hard. The way we do attempt it at Dost Education is, by first introducing new positive associations to the parent, such as playfulness and connection with the child to make listening and discipline easier. Parents strive for better but need lots of support to make nonviolent discipline the easiest choice. What strategies would you experiment with to promote stronger, non-violent responsive parent-child relationships? #toxicstress #talkcareplay #earlylearning #behaviorchange #responsivecaregiving

The success of our intervention lies in its ability to reach the most marginalized communities of India and actively involve families in their children's holistic development. Our flagship phonecasts allow families across all castes, income, and education levels in resource-starved communities to access relevant information on early childhood development that can be easily incorporated into their daily routines of talk, care, and play. Since our beta launch in 2017 with 300 users, we have grown to support over 280,000 families to create a safe and nurturing home environment for their children's holistic development. This growth is a testament to the need for accessible educational resources and the effectiveness of our approach in meeting these needs. #TalkCarePlay #PlayMatters #ChildDevelopment #EarlyEducation #BaateinSnehKhel #Impact
