Then and Now: A Journey of #Resilience, #Hope, and #Growth In 2004, I stood in front of my very first office—a tiny space tucked under a staircase in one of the buildings in the prestigious #BandraKurlaComplex, the heart of Mumbai’s business world. It was humble, but it was ours. I still remember the excitement of those early days. But in 2005, the infamous Mumbai floods hit, and my basement office was completely submerged. I spent seven long days visiting the site, peering through a small window above, watching helplessly as tables, chairs, and even precious artwork floated in the murky water. Every morning, I’d stand there, staring at the devastation, and walk back home with nothing but hope—that tomorrow would be better. And it was. After a week, with mud and algae cleared and fresh paint on the walls, we rebuilt. Our landlord helped us place a black granite slab where our tables used to be, so I could set up my computer. My team of three and I picked up the pieces, and with renewed energy, we got back to work. I’m deeply grateful to my teammates and clients for their unwavering support during that tough time. That flood washed away our office, but it couldn’t wash away our dreams. Fast forward 20 years, and I found myself standing in the exact same spot, overwhelmed by the memories. It’s incredible how far the journey has taken me—from that tiny basement to leading a #team of 25+ people that I’m so proud of today. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from this journey, it’s that every setback is a setup for a comeback. Challenges don’t break us; they build us. Here are three lessons I carry with me: 🌟 Resilience is your greatest asset. When everything is taken from you, your ability to keep going is what defines your success. 🌟 Every storm passes. Bad times are temporary. Hold on with hope, and trust that tomorrow will be a better day. 🌟 Adapt and rebuild. It’s not about never falling; it’s about getting back up, stronger and more determined than before. This visit after 20 years is a reminder that the road to success isn’t always smooth, but it’s worth every bump. If you’re facing challenges today, remember—your story is just beginning. Beyond the business, some clients leave an indelible mark… Rajiv Arvind is the first client to visit our “unconventional” Bandra office, or shall we say, a “shanty”. Ganesh Gadakh made a plea, requesting Rajiv to keep our "shanty" a secret and not reveal the state of our workspace to anyone. To which Rajiv said, "Tu sirf apne kam pe dhyaan de. Ek din tera khudka apna office hoga!" (Just focus on your work, and one day you’ll have your own office.) Rajiv's unwavering faith in our potential proved to be a powerful motivation. In 2016, when we finally bought our own office space in a business park, the first person we wanted to share the news with was none other than Rajiv.
