👀 Who knew something so 𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒍 could lead to something so 𝑩𝑰𝑮? 👀 Well, the countdown begins... ⏳ In just a few short months, our venture Circular Maritime Technologies (CMT International b.v.) will unveil their latest prototype here in Rotterdam: a wire saw that will serve as the core component of CMT's cutting-edge ship dismantling technology, the Diacutron. Daniël Moolenburgh: "In collaboration with our technology partner - Huisman - we are thrilled to announce the testing of this prototype. It will be a significant milestone as it is the last step before we embark on the development of the first (pilot) shipyard specifically designed for circular ship dismantling." A special thanks to our key investors: Sojitz Corporation, Jansen Recycling Group BV and the European Union's Kansen voor West program. Want more updates like this? 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒄𝒖𝒑𝒔 - the results of our Deposit Cup (Statiegeldbeker) pilot are in! That's right! On behalf of our program - Mission Reuse - we are excited to share that the results of the deposit cup are pilot in. What is the deposit cup pilot, you ask? Since March this year, Mission Reuse (alongside Nederlandse Spoorwegen, Verpact, PackBack, Gemeente Rotterdam, Provincie Zuid-Holland and Transitieagenda Consumptiegoederen) have been working with dozens of horeca partners in and around Rotterdam Central Station on an experiment involving a collective return system for reusable cups. For three months, thousands of deposit cups circulated through the city, teaching us what it takes to make a collective return system work in busy (semi-)public spaces. What were the results? 🔑 A universal return infrastructure is not only technically feasible, but operationally doable. 🔑 Reuse adoption skyrockets when it becomes the 'default' choice. 🔑 Uniformity among horeca providers is key to winning over consumers. 👕 Happy World Circular Textiles Day! 👕 A great initiative, right? But here at Enviu, believe EVERY DAY should be World Circular Textiles Day... Why? Textile waste is increasingly impacting the environment due to the rise in fast fashion and shifting consumption patterns. Need proof? + Approximately 85% 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 + Only about 9% of global fibre production uses recycled materials + Recycled textiles make up just 1% of this total production And that's why our textiles program Reweave operates with the mindset that every stitch of change counts... Curious to see the ripple effect of our work? Dive into our 2023 Impact Report and witness how we’re weaving a better tomorrow, one thread at a time: https://lnkd.in/gYZcsUG7 #Impact #Reweave #ImpactReport #CircularFashion #Textiles
