A simple kitchen experiment in a mom’s kitchen turned into a super healthy ice cream brand! We absolutely love eating dessert. On the other hand, we are also fitness freaks and are very conscious of what we eat. Desserts available in the market are typically packed with high fat and a lot of sugar and barely any protein. It all started when one day we asked our mother to whip us a healthier option to satiate our post-workout cravings. Since our mother like all mothers has always made the best food for us, she got onto it in a jiffy. It was on the very first bite, the three of us decided that this ice cream has to be shared with the world. We wanted everyone to have the same guilt-free experience that we shared in our kitchen that day. At Get-A-Way, we make ice creams, ice pops, cheesecakes and kulfis that are healthy yet outrageously tasty. They are low in calories, high in protein, keto friendly and vegan! Understanding Consumer Preferences is Key One of the most important lessons is the need to deeply understand the target audience's preferences, in terms of dietary preferences (keto, vegan, low cal, high protein), the Indian flavour palate which is region specific and evolved tastes year on year. 2. Quality Ingredients and Transparency Matter Using high-quality ingredients and to be able to clearly communicate this on packaging is what customers deserve. 3. Branding and Storytelling are Powerful Tools Consumers are drawn to brands that have a relatable mission and values. We have always stayed true to our roots & our humble beginnings in our mother's kitchen and use our packaging be it the tubs, carry bags to tell our story to our customers. 4.Distribution and Logistics are Critical for D2C Success The biggest challenge to starting an ice cream brand and making it national was the cold-chain logistics.
