SESSION ALERT!🚨 On May 5th, 2024, Girl Up Ahsaas, in collaboration with Girlup Rubaroo and the National Service Scheme of Kamala Nehru College, University of Delhi , hosted a webinar titled "Demystifying Financial Literacy and Investment Options Among Girls". The keynote speaker was Ms. Priyanka Bhatia a lead consultant and co-founder of Women On Wealth. Her session provided valuable insights into finance and investments, emphasizing the importance of financial independence for women and strategies to minimize investment risks. Attendees also gained understanding on diversifying financial investments and analyzing a company's financial position for informed investment decisions. With over 80 attendees, the event was a resounding success, showcasing strong audience engagement and collaboration among partners. We eagerly anticipate organizing more such events in the future to empower with knowledge and insights.

Girl Up Ahsaas Ahsaas in collaboration with Girl Up Noor , GirlUp Aazaad , Girl Up Sheisha, Project Mehviyat and the National Service Scheme of Kamala Nehru College organised a Panel discussion on the theme: Understanding Intersectionality in Autism, last Sunday on 14th April 2024, 4pm. Board of panelists included Anindita Kundu 🏳️🌈   , a lived experience advocate of Autism and ADHD and a trauma and somatic therapist; Dr. Nidhi Singhal, the Director of Research and Training at Action for Autism, National Centre for Autism India and Gopika Kapoor, a neurodiversity consultant and author of "Beyond Blue: Love, Life, and Autism," the first of its kind book by a parent advocate. The panel discussion helped us dive into the different intersections of an autistic individual’s existential reality. The panelists spoke of varied stereotypes and biases embedded in today’s discourse that perpetuate the stigma around Autism and prevent help-seeking behaviour. Intersections of an individual’s gender identity, sexuality, socio-economic background and cultural context, were all talked about underscoring the fact that ‘no two individuals with Autism have the same experience.’ Our panelists emphasised the need for grassroots level awareness which can start from stakeholders such as teachers and doctors while also shedding light on recognising the potential of individuals with Autism and ‘passing them the mic if you have it.’ This online panel discussion was a resounding success, with over 100 attendees. We are grateful for our audience’s engagement and enthusiasm throughout the discussion as well as the support of our collaborators. We look forward to hosting many more such educational events that can help in creating a more inclusive, accommodative and just space in the world.
