Inside our newest store in #Lucknow : Lucknow stands as the most impressionable muse for the store, with details of its heritage structures inspiring our boutique's features. * While the cinquefoil arch of the #RumiDarwaza inspired our #niche, the larger than-life #arches in the store take from Lucknow's I#mambaras. * Bridging historical form and functionality, this store also features the revival of the #ChiniKhana or 'Porcelain Houses', a historic feature that had previously gone out of use — as our Good Earth crockery finds home in our modern-day chini-khana-inspired shelves, we think about our role in responding to history. * Guests are welcomed into an 'oasis of peace,’ where the striking Udaipur green and white marble checkerboard #flooring (patang chal) leads to a stunning Baroda green marble #waterfountain at the heart of the store. *The fountain, inspired by the Mughal Charbagh, is artfully paved with fragments of Good Earth’s exquisite crockery, inviting delightful discoveries. *The evocative #aroma of Good Earth’s signature scent blends transports visitors to a whimsical world of elegance and charm. *Above, dazzling #chandeliers cast a warm glow, further enhancing the #splendour of the #space. #GoodEarth #NewStore #Lucknow #InspiredByHistory #DesignInspiration

“The Good Earth boutique in Lucknow is not just a store but a celebration of the city’s rich architectural heritage and its warm culture of hospitality." -Anita Lal, Founder, Good Earth The vision of our #neweststore in #Lucknow comes to life through the creative collaboration of Good Earth’s Creative Director Anita Lal and maximalist Designer Adil Ahmad, resulting in a space that offers both an ambient journey and a sensory experience. On #creating the store in collaboration with our founder and the team, Designer Adil Ahmad, who has been associated with Good Earth for long, says: “Collaborating with Anita Lal and the Good Earth team has been a journey of creativity and exploration. Our conversations are fluid and free flowing, allowing us to bounce ideas off each other effortlessly. With each project, including the Lucknow store, we remain communicative and eager to experiment, blending our visions to create spaces that truly resonate with the cultural essence of the city.” #GoodEarthStores #GoodEarthLucknow #NowOpen #NewStore #FoundersVoice #DesignersSpeak

Good Earth arrives in #Lucknow! ‘Tehzeeb Ka Sheher’ Lucknow, with its nawabs, centuries-old #architecture, genteel adab and maximalist andaz transports you into an era bygone, leaving you enamoured. It is against the backdrop of Lucknow’s sublime cultural wealth, reflected in its famous Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb and its traditions of khatirdaari (hospitality), that a #newdestination for Good Earth emerged. To pay homage to this city untouched by time, the #VisualDesign Team at Good Earth recreated Lucknow's city map through our point of view. Through it, we delight at the magnificence of the Rumi Darwaza, revel in lanes full of fragrant ittar and mouth-watering kebabs, marvel at the mastery of Chikankari artists, and pursue a journey to a different era. #GoodEarthStores #GoodEarthLucknow #NowOpen #NishatGanj #IncredibleIndia #HeritageInspired Nitin Brijwal Padmakshi Dubey Ananya Maurya Kajal Manchanda

For Aratrik Dev Varman, Founder and Lead designer at Tilla, creativity is found in a shared workspace, where over a large island table ideas flow back and forth organically between the team. His day begins with creating a to-do list and tidying up his desk, which he fondly describes as an ordered mess. “I work on a 3.5 ft by 5 ft table, which is higher than usual, because I like to stand when I’m working on composition and tracing. I like to lay out samples from all the projects I’m working on simultaneously. So, there’s always patchwork, embroidery pieces. I also constantly organize the desk in between tasks, I find it helps clear my mind.” It was in this space that Aratrik also created Tangerine in collaboration with Good Earth in 2023 — a dinnerware range inspired by a fragrant Moroccan riad. In our series Desk Dreamers, we walk through the workspaces of Good Earth’s collaborators, discovering objects and rituals that inspire their creative vision. Natural light streams in through tall windows, dancing on walls and making their way to a large marble marquetry table, where #Frenchdesigner Thierry Journo conjures some of his finest work. “My workspace is designed like a library, loaded with books on culture and history and various paintings. I am the complete opposite of minimal all-white rooms.” The designer – who collaborated with Good Earth last year to create Mirage, an exclusive tableware range – starts his every day with a cup of black moka coffee without sugar and loves listening to music while spending his hours drawing and painting beautiful designs. In our series Desk Dreamers, we walk through the workspaces of Good Earth’s collaborators, discovering objects and rituals that inspire their creative vision. Artist Rebecca Campbell’s #London studio – located on the first floor of an old Victorian warehouse – is a creative cocoon with a splendid view. “My #desk is in front of a window overlooking a large tree, where every day different birds come to visit as well as pesky grey squirrels. It’s wonderful as I can see the daily change that the seasons bring.” Her creative process begins by sketching out ideas for her paintings, and once the design is in place, she tunes into a podcast and begins the process of bringing her vision alive on canvas using water colours and oil paints passed down to her by her grandmother and mother. “The desk itself is very old artist’s drafting table, the wooden top has many marks on it, and if it could talk, I’m sure it would have many stories to tell!” In our series Desk Dreamers, we walk through the workspaces of Good Earth’s collaborators, discovering objects and rituals that inspire their creative vision. Launched in 2004, Periyar was one of the first block-print designs at Good Earth. Up until the early 2000s, the block printing landscape in India was dominated by thicker Sanganeri prints and floral Mughal butis. Head of Design Asha Madan recalls creating Periyar from a place of joy and unbridled creativity, never expecting it to introduce a contemporary tropical aesthetic to the craft, one that has continued to evolve and stay relevant 20 years on.
