Like that in 12 Indian languages including Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi and Odia. And it starts at just Rs 99/- per month. Just because I am from Lucknow and I like Golgappe and Papdi Chaat and not Starbucks Coffee or Sushi platter? Or I am from Guntur and I like Pushpa and Arjun Reddy and not EDM parties or going to America? or I am from Tirunelveli and I like Kuthu dance and also Surya's dance in Ghajini movie and not classical dance? Or I am from Kolhapur and my favorite actor is Bharat Jadhav and I like cutting chai and not Cappuccino and Latte? So what? The time has come for over 200 million youngsters in non-metro cities, towns and villages to connect, make new friends and meet new people. Introducing Gaming in Hi Hello 15 months back when we launched Hi Hello as a dating app for Tier 2 India, we didnt envisage that we will cross 1.5mn+ downloads, $40k annual revenue and 40k paid subscribers on a $400k fund raise. But something was missing. Youngsters in Tier 2 India match but they struggle to chat with one another in written form. So we went back to the drawing board, travelled extensively and spoke to hundreds of youngsters and realized that the one currency, one emotion, one thing that comes naturally to almost everyone in the 18-25yrs age group and that connects 28 states, 22 official languages and hundreds of dialects in India is GAMING. The numbers for Gaming in India are well stacked up - 500mn gamers, 66% of gamers from Tier 2 towns, 40% female gamers, ARPU of $20, 20hrs per week (guilty!!) etc. So, are we a Gaming app now? No, we are a dating app with a social gaming layer (watch video for better explanation). After intense months of game development, working with designers et al, we beta launched 3 casual games on the app this week to a limited base and we have plans to launch a lot of casual games (Match 3 games, Ludo, Snakes n Ladders etc.) in the coming months that will move the needle on conversations, engagement and matches. When people world over are matching with each other in the most unlikely of places - runners on Strava, language enthusiasts on Duolingo, food lovers on Yelp or when Gamification has become the go-to mode from NY Times to LinkedIn, we felt that Fun & Games are complementary on Hi Hello also. Presenting Hi Hello - Dating + Gaming App Let the Games Begin!!

    Building for Tier 2 India

These are small victories... But they matter.. We launched just over an year back with $400k in equity funding and have now hit 1mn downloads + on Google Play Store (we are actually at 1.2mn+). Our top 5 cities are Lucknow, Patna, Ludhiana, Indore and Coimbatore as we have launched only in 5 states with a CPI of less than Rs 3, healthy retention rates, heavy monetization by using micropayments, increasing gender ratio with customized marketing and higher engagement rates by introducing new product features Yes, Bharat is ready and there is a lot of room to grow. And we are super excited for 2024 where we have a raft of exciting new features lined up. I and Soumik Sarkar kept it simple with our initial team Rachit Goyal, Dayakar Goud and our marketing whiz's Vipa Jhaveri, Riya Singh & Vidhi Jhaveri Special thanks to our steadfast partners Rajesh Sehgal, Ankit Prasad, Kishore Ganji, Aprameya Radhakrishna, Amit Rathi,Sujot Malhotra, Sunil Kamath, Mayank Bidawatka, Navjot Kaur, Subramanya S V, Krishna Vaddi, Equanimity Investments, Bobble AI, Astir Ventures and of course the worker bees who are supportive and make this whole thing happen with Nakul Agrawal and Praneeth Kannah #consumertech #india #bharat

    Building for Tier 2 India

Today, we turn 1 Hi Hello went live on Google Play Store an year back. We were lucky to be backed by Equanimity Investments, Bobble AI, Ankit Prasad, Aprameya Radhakrishna, Subramanya S V, Sujot Malhotra, Sunil Kamath, Mayank Bidawatka, Amit Rathi, at a pre-launch, pre-product level. We raised $400k Honestly, we were petrified. Its one thing to have done your due diligence, research, 'Bharat Jodo yatra' etc. and another thing to see your product live in a blue ocean kind of space. We launched in 4 states and started subscription revenue (Rs 49/week introductory and Rs 99/month) from Jan-Feb'23 onwards. As I write this, we are at 800k+ downloads, 20k+ subscribers, $25k in overall revenue in 12 languages with 60% Hindi profiles, 78% profiles in the 18-25 age group and our top 5 cities include Ludhiana, Lucknow, Agra, Coimbatore and Patna. We went unit economic positive from a marketing POV in September'23 as we removed the introductory pricing. We learnt a lot. What works (Our CPI is Rs 2.1 in Punjab) and What doesn't (MP is a struggle!). The fact that you dont need to raise a lot of money (unlike other Bharat focused brands in the past) if you understand the pulse of the market. Also, why 50% of our negative ratings come only from 2 cities where we havent even launched (Delhi, Kolkata) IYKYK :) Hi Hello 2.0 is here. Hi Hello 2.0 will be product focused. Improving UX/UI, adding dating based gaming as a huge component (Gaming Publishers/Developers, hit me up!!), virtual gifting, content etc. Our existing investors Equanimity Investments are doubling down, some interesting discussions with new investors had been had and now we know for a fact that Bharat is ready. P.S: This was the first ad that we had released on Google and Meta last year. Oh, we are also in the TOP 5 dating apps in the country mixing it with the OGs. This is anyway a vanity metric, but hey something seems to be working :)
