"Nothing will change with your NO, and the day will go on as usual. But a YES can create history, inspiring others to say YES in the future." This movie dialogue served as a great source of inspiration for me in organising YESS'24, the largest student congress in the history of IEEE. From the initial concept to the final ceremony, this quote motivated us to keep saying YES to YESS'24, despite the many challenges we faced. An event of this kind also had to face an unforgettable challenge - the change of host just 5 days before the event. Co-organised by 42 IEEE OUs, it brought together 3,089 participants from 93 colleges/universities across South India. The event was powered by 453 dedicated volunteers, featuring 117 speakers, 104 faculty members, and 25 special guests, including IEEE Life Senior Members. YESS'24 offered over 30 innovative events, such as the world’s first Generative-AI Fashion Show, India’s first IEEE Dataport-powered Datathon, industry-mentoring program sponsored by 14 companies etc. This transformative platform enabled the networking and engagement opportunity for 4000+ IEEE members across South India On behalf of the team, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every IEEE Kerala Section ExCom member especially the core execom members Muhammed Kasim S, Bijuna K BIJU K. Nandan S, past chairs Suresh Nair, Mini Ulanat, IEEE Kochi Subsection vice chair Dr. Bijoy A. Jose and SAC team Varghese Cherian, Dr. John George, Dr. Dolly and Sreeram Manghat for your unwavering support. It was essential to hold YESS'24 on the originally scheduled date, despite the change in host. I would like to extend special thanks to Neelakantan PC Dr. CHIKKU ABRAHAM and Dr. Shajimon K John of Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science for standing by us and helping organize an event of this scale with only five days' notice. The organising team consisted of over 450+ volunteers (from IEEE LINK, IEEE SB MITS, IEEE Student Branch | Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology, and Society Chapter SLTs) and professional volunteers (from different OUs) many of whom met for the first time on the 23rd. Beyond being the largest student congress in the history of IEEE, YESS'24 was also a leadership experiment, bringing together different OUs in IEEE Kerala Section to achieve a greater goal. Among the hundreds of volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this happen, I have to acknowledge three key pillars of support: THOMAS K GIMMY, Navaneeth v nair, Govindaraman S, and Aswathi T Special thanks to Msigma Gokulam, IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Humanitarian Technologies, IEEE DataPort, IEEE India Operations, IEEE India Philanthropy, and IEEE Blended Learning Program for your support. To wrap it up, another movie dialogue: "History says powerful people come from powerful places. But history was wrong. Powerful people make places powerful!" #IEEEYESS #IEEE
