The court said it will make it clear that merely because a person is an accused or even a convict, it can’t be a ground for demolition of property. "We are a secular country and our directions will be for all irrespective of religion or community. Of course for encroachments we have said...if it is on public road or footpath or water body or railway line area, we have clarified. If there is any religious structure on the middle of the road be it gurudwara or dargah or temple, it cannot obstruct public," the Supreme Court said.

Was Mahatma Gandhi a racist? It’s a question that has sparked heated debates in recent years. While Gandhi is celebrated worldwide for leading #India to independence and advocating for non-violence, his earlier views, especially during his time in #SouthAfrica, have been under scrutiny. In 1894, Gandhi made statements comparing Indians to the native African population in derogatory terms, which led some to question his legacy. At the same time, Gandhi inspired figures like Martin Luther King Jr and Nelson Mandela in their own fights against racial oppression.
