Indo-German Cooperation on Skill Development

🌿 Excited to share that GIZ India – IGGSP Team recently concluded an insightful study tour on "TVET for Green Skill Development”, in which GIZ Viet Nam and GIZ- Sri Lanka TVET teams participated along with their Political and Private partners (TVET institutions and Industry Chambers). This was the second phase of the triangular exchange program among the GIZ countries, the earlier one was hosted by GIZ Viet Nam in the year 2023. GIZ India provided an opportunity to the TVET delegations of GIZ Viet Nam and GIZ Sri Lanka to learn about the Indian #TVET sphere and the role of different agencies, provided a platform for exchange on topics like “#Green Skills Development”, “Best Practices for International workforce development in Solar and EV sectors thereby exploring possible partnerships with the Indian Partners”. The delegation covered three cities - New Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru over a span of one week i.e: 9-13th September 2024. Till date, participating teams have exchanged knowledge products and are in discussion for possible partnerships.     A big thank you #GIZ Sector Network Forum for providing us the platform to learn and exchange, Dr.Rodney Reviere, Afsana R. and GIZ Shri Lanka team all this would not have been possible without your guidance and support. Over the past few weeks, our team has had the privilege of engaging with stakeholders in #Bengaluru, #Pune, #Kolkata, and #Hyderabad to gather invaluable insights and perspectives in gender focused skilling in EV and Solar Sector. On #GenderFocusMarch, we celebrate strong women like Pooja M. who take the lead in training India's future experts. Right after college, at a time where only two professions, teacher and doctor, were considered appropriate for women, Pooja became a salesperson for a pharmaceutical company. "I knew I had to prove myself, and I was determined to do just that,” she recalls, as she was determined to show to all those who did not take her seriously because of her gender, that women can excel in every profession. Being “headstrong and stubborn," qualities that her family deemed improper for a woman, is what actually helped her succeed. As a #MasterTrainer, Pooja is committed not only to teaching specific skills, but to transforming mindsets. ”It's not merely about the expertise you possess; it's about the impact you create. On #GenderFocusMarch we celebrate strong women like Kajal Rajvaidya who take the lead in training India's future experts. After overcoming financial struggles and linguistic challenges, Kajal graduated as an #ElectricalEngineer and decided to share her passion with others by becoming a robotics #trainer. She led her students to various victories in international competitions, fuelled by her determination to prove to all girls that #robotics has no gender. In spite of the often discriminatory attitude of her mostly male and older colleagues, her hard work, determination and passion led her to establish Kajal Innovation and Technical Solutions (KITS), a startup with a positive social impact and an international scope, which won her the Best #LadyEntrepreneur Award at Startup Yatra 2023. On #GenderFocusMarch, we celebrate strong women like Sailaja who take the lead in training India's future experts. D. Sailaja’s career began as an Assistant #TrainingOfficer (ATO) in #electronic #mechanics right after completing her diploma, at the age of 18. Being a young girl in a male dominated environment, she worked hard to demonstrate her skills through the success of her students and their positive results. She recalls: “As the sole female instructor among men, I faced many obstacles. However, I overcame them when my trainees achieved perfect scores in their final exams – that's when perceptions changed." Later on, having become the principal of Govt. On #GenderFocusMarch, we celebrate strong women like Neeraja who take the lead in training India's future experts.     Despite financial struggles and societal discriminations, Neeraja has succeeded in many fields, from her B. Tech. in #electrical #engineering to securing a government job as a #lecturer at a Polytechnic. Her father, who always pushed her to study hard, was a great source of inspiration for her. We are excited to report on the #CIIEnterpriseOdisha, which took place in #Jharsuguda, on the 20th of January. Mohamed Badran Project Head of the Indo German Green Skills Programme (IGGSP) participated in the session on #skilldevelopment with a talk on Re-engineering Skill Ecosystem towards Demand Driven Approach.
