The Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (SPSR) proudly conducted the 71st SPSR International Webinar on ‘Natural Based Polymeric Delivery Systems: Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy in Pharmaceutical Science’. We were honored to host Dr. Najwa Mohamad, Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology & Industry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Cyberjaya, Selangor, Malaysia, as our distinguished speaker. Dr. Najwa Mohamad delivered a remarkable session, offering in-depth insights into Natural-Based Polymeric Delivery Systems and their role in improving therapeutic efficacy in pharmaceutical science. Her presentation underscored the advantages of natural polymers as sustainable and biocompatible carriers, and how these innovative systems contribute to enhanced drug delivery, increased bioavailability, and reduced side effects in medical treatments. The webinar received an enthusiastic global response, with over 1800 registrations from more than 27 countries. The broad international interest highlights the importance of natural-based solutions in advancing the field of pharmaceutical sciences. NIOSOMES: A NOVEL DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM Niosomes are self-assembled vesicular nanocarriers that are produced when cholesterol, non-ionic surfactant, or other amphiphilic compounds are hydrated & having a range of applications, including brain-targeted delivery and cutaneous delivery. Similarly to liposomes, niosomes can carry lipophilic and hydrophilic cargoes due to their bilayer structure. DEVELOPMENT & CHARACTERIZATION OF MOUTH DISSOLVING TABLET OF VOGLIBOSE Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor indicated in the management of postprandial blood glucose in patients with type II diabetes. Voglibose binds to and inhibits alpha-glucosidase, an enteric enzyme found in the brush border of the small intestines that hydrolyzes oligosaccharides and disaccharides into glucose and other monosaccharides. This prevents the breakdown of larger carbohydrates into glucose and decreases the rise in postprandial blood glucose levels. The session was led by our esteemed speaker, Prof. (Dr.) Dharmendra Ahuja, Principal Mentor at the Bureau for Health and Education Status Upliftment, India. Prof. (Dr.) Dharmendra Ahuja delivered an exceptional session, focusing on the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in pharmaceutical education, with special emphasis on Ex Pharm Software and Ex Physio Software. He demonstrated how these AI-powered tools are revolutionizing pharmacological education by providing virtual platforms for conducting practicals, simulations, and data-driven experiments. The speaker further engaged the audience by showcasing demo videos of pharmacological practicals, illustrating the functionality and benefits of these advanced AI-based tools in enhancing the learning experience. COMPARING DIFFERENT DOSES OF PENTYLENETETRAZOLE INDUCED EXPERIMENTAL MODEL OF SEIZURE IN MICE Pentetrazol (pentylenetetrazol) is a central and respiratory stimulant, similar to doxapram hydrochloride. It is a GABAA receptor antagonist and is anxiogenic. It has been used in respiratory depression and has also been included in multi-ingredient formulations for respiratory tract disorders, including cough, and for the treatment of hypotension and pruritus.
