  • Dr. Ajay Mathur, Director General, ISA will be speaking at the Modern Energy Cooking Forum 2024! ✨ This forum has been established with the goal of creating a national platform for key stakeholders in the clean cooking sector to engage in insightful discussions and address pressing challenges. With a focus on electricity, batteries, and solar, the forum aims to identify pragmatic solutions for India's transition to modern energy-based clean cooking. 🔋 In particular, solar energy can make cooking safer by preventing the inhalation of toxic gases produced by traditional cooking methods, such as using wood, charcoal, or kerosene. Solar energy holds enormous potential to revolutionize clean cooking. By harnessing solar power, we can offer a renewable, cost-effective, and accessible energy source for millions of households in need of clean cooking solutions. ☀ Solar-powered stoves and appliances can: 🔅Reduce dependency on traditional biomass fuels, which contribute to indoor air pollution and deforestation. 🔅Provide affordable energy in remote areas where grid electricity is either unreliable or unavailable. 🔅Lower carbon emissions, supporting global climate goals and national commitments to clean energy. 🔅Enable the use of solar batteries to store energy, ensuring that cooking can continue even when the sun isn’t shining. Dr. Mathur’s participation in this forum reflects ISA’s commitment to driving innovation and sustainability in diverse sectors, including clean cooking. His insights will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the modern energy-based clean cooking ecosystem in India, helping pave the way for widespread adoption of solar-powered cooking solutions. 🌍 As the world shifts towards sustainable development, solar energy stands out as a game-changer in addressing the pressing need for clean, safe, and efficient cooking solutions for millions of households globally. This forum will foster collaboration among stakeholders to ensure solar plays a central role in achieving energy access and clean cooking for all.🌱 Stay tuned for updates from the Modern Energy Cooking Forum 2024!

  • At the "Room Discussion - Financing Solar for Communities" during the International Solar Festival, experts like Manish Chaurasia (Tata Capital Ltd - Cleantech Finance ), Raghav Handa (Strategic Business Development), Tanya Singhal (SolarArise India Projects Pvt Ltd), and Nikhil Jain (SELCO Foundation) highlighted the urgent need for innovative finance to scale solar in communities. While large-scale projects are gaining traction, smaller initiatives—especially for smallholder farmers—face financing challenges. Closing the $150 billion annual funding gap requires global support, blended finance, and policy alignment. Small actions, multiplied across millions, can drive the shift to clean energy. #SolarForCommunities | #CleanTech | #RenewableEnergy | #EnergyTransition | #SolarPower | #InternationalSolarFestival | #FinancingTheFuture
