Godbole, a distinguished expert in Food and Micronutrients and Head of the Department at KLE University, to our innovation centre. Prof. Godbole was graciously welcomed by Ritesh Deshpande, General Manager of KAHER Incubation and Innovation Centre. Dr. Godbole’s contributions to Endocrinology, Brain Development, and Food Science have significantly advanced our understanding of the impact of micronutrients on human health. During his visit, he shared invaluable insights into functional foods, explored our state-of-the-art equipment, and discussed the innovative activities taking place in our labs. His presence has inspired our teams to further our commitment to fostering healthcare innovation. We are thrilled to reflect on the success of our recent MedTech Hackathon, which took place at the KAHER Incubation and Innovation Centre. With more than 1,000 attendees and 97 startups registered, the event brought together innovators, healthcare professionals, and industry leaders to tackle pressing challenges in the MedTech space. We are thrilled to announce that KLE University is now an official training provider affiliated with the Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC)! This strategic partnership will enable us to enhance vocational education and training in the Life Sciences sector, including Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Medical Devices, and Research & Development Services. Our collaboration with LSSSDC, a recognized awarding body under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, aligns perfectly with our mission to empower students and professionals with industry-relevant skills. About LSSSDC Established in 2014 by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), LSSSDC is the only Sector Skill Council dedicated exclusively to Life Sciences. From 'Bench to Clinic,' it plays a pivotal role in creating a skilled workforce through comprehensive training programs across R&D, manufacturing, and the supply chain of Drugs & Medical Devices. LSSSDC also serves as an advisory and monitoring body for industry apprenticeship programs under the Apprenticeship Act. KLE Incubation and Innovation Centre: A Beacon of MedTech Innovation Tomorrow, August 30, 2024, we’re excited to unveil a significant milestone in India's MedTech sector! The KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research is set to launch the KAHER Incubation and Innovation Centre (KIIC) in Belgaum, a cutting-edge hub dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in healthcare. The event will showcase groundbreaking startups that have emerged from KIIC, including a Portable X-ray Machine, Textile-based Sensors for ECG and EMG data, AI-driven Medical Imaging solutions, and a Low-Cost, Non-Invasive Neonatal Jaundice Detection system. These ventures highlight our commitment to integrating advanced technology with medical advancements to transform the MedTech landscape. In a major step forward, we’ll be formalizing four pivotal Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with esteemed organizations: - SIIC IIT Kanpur: Collaborating to drive initiatives in healthcare, MedTech, and Agri-tech. - Real Time Angel Fund (RTAF): Enhancing outreach and evaluating potential investments. - Yashoda Group of Hospitals: Facilitating investments through its network. - IVY League Ventures Pvt Limited: Leveraging expertise to assess startup investment feasibility. Our outreach campaign attracted 130 applications from across India, with 87 from within the KLE ecosystem and 43 from beyond. After a rigorous selection process, the top 10 startups were chosen to present their innovative solutions at tomorrow’s MedTech Hackathon & Industry Roundtable. We’re honored to have an esteemed panel of dignitaries, including Shri M.B. Patil, Dr. Prabhakar Kore, and Dr. Arvind Kumar, among others, joining us to highlight the importance of innovation in healthcare. The Industry Roundtable will cover key topics such as "Fueling Innovation: Investment Strategies and Opportunities in the MedTech Sector" and "Revolutionizing Healthcare: How Innovation in MedTech is Transforming Patient Care." As we prepare to welcome participants from prestigious institutions like IIT Madras and Amity University Maharashtra, KIIC is poised to position Belgaum as a thriving startup hub.
