It was an incredible opportunity to engage with distinguished leaders such as Shri Sunil Barthwal IAS, Commerce Secretary, Govt. of India, and Smt. Radha Raturi IAS , Chief Secretary, Govt. of Uttarakhand. Also present were Shri Anand Bardhan IAS, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Govt. of Uttarakhand, Shri Tarun Bajaj DIR (BEDF) APEDA, Shri Abhishek Dev IAS - Chairman, APEDA, MOC & I, GOI, Shri Manuj Goyal IAS, Add. The *Buyer-Seller Meet for Spices* held in Haldwani, Uttarakhand on 22nd August 2024, was a significant event aimed at strengthening the connections between local spice farmers and exporters. Organized by the Spices Board of India - Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the meet took place at Hotel Blue Saphire Countryside and was coordinated by Mr. Rahul Agrawal, Chairman of FPO Kishan Utthan Swayatt Sahkarita (KUSS). The event drew around 250 participants, including representatives from 25 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), individual farmers, processors, traders, and 30 exporters. The exhibition associated with the meet showcased stalls from FPOs, government departments, and related organizations, offering valuable insights into post-harvest practices, quality standards, and various government schemes.
