A student community that bridges the gap between those who have excelled in their domain and the college students.

About us

Hey there! Welcome to Simplify, an initiative by the students of SSCBS, SRCC, LSR and Hindu College to bridge the gap between those who have excelled in their domains and students who are just starting out. We wholeheartedly understand what a rollercoaster ride college can be, with its ups and downs, triumphs and challenges. We firmly believe in the transformative power of mentorship and knowledge sharing sessions and their ability to ignite your potential, that’s why we will connect you with the individuals who have walked on this path before you. We have onboarded individuals from Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), McKinsey & Company, L.E.K. Consulting, Everest Group, Accenture, Dalberg, Alvarez & Marsal, Houlihan Lokey, The D. E. Shaw Group, Marico Limited, Nomura, ZS, Google, Zomato, Nykaa, Havells, Dabur India etc. Most of us often stress out during the preparation of competitive exams. Hence, we have mentors from IIM A,B, C, L, I, K, FMS, XLRI and ISB to become your allies, your cheerleaders, and your confidants. With Simplify, it’s not just about surviving college; it’s about thriving and flourishing in every aspect of your college life. Together, we will navigate the twists and turns, overcome obstacles, and celebrate your achievements. With you, we gonna learn too! Let's Simplify! 🚀 Contact us: buildingsimplify@gmail.com

This week in Aspirers by Simplify, we feature Veides Kasera from Shri Ram College of Commerce. He is currently working as a Consultant at Blackstone. Veides recounts his path to securing an internship at Siemens and having cleared both CFA Level 1 and CA Intermediate exam while being in college. He shares with us some of the insights that led him to be where he is now:- 1. Always focus on academics since I feel that that has what has helped me to get where I am currently. I never compromised on was my sleep and also my CGPA. And also in the fact that I have always tried to do the best in whatever I do. And if I give a subpar performance in college exams due to CA, that won't be doing justice to either. 2. With the notion that without a good society, without a POR, you can't have anything in terms of placements, in terms of future prospects, that is something which has been dispelled up to a large extent. 3. Balancing the time is difficult but you have to prioritise, you have to see what is important for you and what is not important for you. While you have a one-track mindset, you have to stay open to other opportunities which come your way. He plans to gain industry experience at Blackstone to help him discover his interests further, he continues to be an aspirer! Link to our WA Group: https://lnkd.in/g2qbmv6c Let’s Simplify! 🚀

This week in Aspirers by Simplify, we feature Hitakshi Bedi from St. Stephen's College, Delhi. She’s an incoming Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company. Hitakshi recounts her path to securing an internship at JSW Steel, being part of the 1st Batch of FinSpire Fellowship by the The D. E. Shaw Group and the recipient of the Bain & Company's True North Scholarship. She shares with us some of the insights that led her to be where she is now:- 1. Prioritise the work offered to you in internships, over brand names. Some of my first few internships were with less than 10 employee startups since they have the maximum scope to learn skills and become a great talking point for future interviews. 2. Make the most out of your network on Linkedin, I reached out to a lot of people for internship opportunities as well as guidance. Also make it a point to always obtain feedback from your interviewers, irrespective of the results. 3. Make sure to have some coherent flow with the work that you have done across your college life. I made it a point to have a backing for every project and role I took up while sitting for my placement interviews. This conveys commitment and thoughtfulness to the interviewer. She plans to gain industry experience at McKinsey to help her discover her interests further and then follow it up with a masters degree, she continues to be an aspirer! Discover the inspiring stories of people who pursued their dreams and made them a reality in the captivating series 'Aspirers by Simplify.' Get valuable insights into their journeys, empowering those who want to pursue their own passions in any field. This week in Aspirers by Simplify, we feature Parinnay Chaudhry from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies. He's an incoming Associate at The D. E. Shaw Group and is currently preparing for the CFA Level 2 exam. Parinnay recounts his path to securing an internship at The D.E. Shaw Group, achieving the third place globally in the Global Case Competition at Harvard, and being the Global Winner of EY and Microsoft Better Working World Data Challenge. He shares with us some of the insights that led him to be where he is now:- 1. Make yourself your number 1 priority. Understand how precious and limited your energy is, use it wisely. This doesn't mean to be selfish and wrong people but to keep yourself at the top of the priority list. 2. Thinking far down the road is important but not important enough that you waste energy worrying about what’s to come. Baby steps are the key. Resilience in the face of seemingly poor progress is one of the most important traits to hone in. 3. The best laid plans also fail. Have to know both, how to win and lose with grace 4. Initially, spend more time learning and exploring than anything else. I have never personally been a fan of too many internships early into the college life. People become special not because they know a little about too many things but because they have a spike and deep understanding of 1 area. It takes time to explore and hone in on that area. 5. Every investment has risk and reward. Think of what you are doing with your time in terms of risk and reward and pick the best opportunities. Maintaining discipline and consistency in actions is my biggest priority when I have to focus on something. With his short term vision to getting industry experience in investments and hedge funds and long term vision to manage his own fund, he continues to be an aspirer!
