Seasonality shapes consumer demand and purchasing behaviour throughout the year, influenced by weather changes and festive occasions. In contrast to the four-season structure common in Western markets, Indian retail operates primarily around two key seasons: Spring-Summer (February to July) and Autumn-Winter (August to January). While seasons dictate product collections, seasonality drives sales figures. Every brand follows a retail calendar that guides its sales targets, marketing strategies, and promotional efforts. The more efficiently brands plan their calendar, the more effectively they can run operations and save costs. Retail festivities can be broadly classified into regional festivities and planned events. A closer look at the Indian calendar reveals that most festivals are concentrated in the Autumn-Winter season. Planned events like the IPL, Olympics, and World Cups are a few such examples that draw customers to stores. A substantial portion of sales takes place during the End of Season Sales (EOSS), which typically run for two months each season, usually June-July for Spring-Summer and December-January for Autumn-Winter. EOSS can also be seen as a massive event created by brands to boost their sales. The charts below clearly show the significant sales peak that brands observe during these periods. While EOSS significantly boosts revenue, the average order value often shrinks due to the heavy discounts offered. Another trend to note is that emerging brands are now moving away from End of Season Sales (EOSS). By launching new collections every 6-8 weeks, they not only maintain a fresh store experience but also improve inventory management. It's equally important to understand customer experiences at different touchpoints through this cycle. Aligning your retail marketing campaigns with the mall’s calendar not only enhances your efforts but also attracts more customers to engage with. The effectiveness of seasonal campaigns can be readily assessed through customer loyalty, offering key insights into the success of these efforts. With the peak of the festive season approaching, have you planned your campaigns well? #Retail #LiteStore #RetailCalendar #EOSS

Kiosk and pop up stores offer effortless shopping experiences in an interactive way, compared to traditional brick and mortar stores. However, opening and running kiosks come with pros and cons. Pro - Kiosks provide access to malls with limited available space Often the demand for EBOs far outweighs the supply. Securing the right space in malls or on busy streets can be incredibly challenging. Kiosks are a way to be present in these buzzing locations. Con - High Capital and Operating Expenses for a small space The rent per square foot for smaller retail spaces in malls or busy streets is often double that of larger spaces (over 1,000 square feet). Additionally, the manpower cost per square foot for operating a kiosk is nearly four times higher than for a larger store. These substantial upfront investments can heavily strain a brand's finances, posing significant risks for financial recovery and ROI. If you are considering an offline store, a kiosk/pop-up can be a great first step but brands should weigh their options and select kiosks carefully to avoid getting their hands burnt. #Retail #Kiosk #LiteStore #EBO #retailstore

"Are kiosks the future of retail, or just a risky gamble? As consumer habits shift, businesses are betting on this compact solution—but is it worth the risk for new-age brands?" Kiosks and pop-up stores have always commanded attention, whether in busy mall spaces or on high streets. Customers are naturally drawn to the offerings on display. These setups provide a platform to showcase a curated selection of products in an enticing and visually captivating manner, often with a try-before-you-buy option. The sheer volume of foot traffic in these high-density locations presents an unparalleled opportunity to amplify brand visibility and build a devoted social media following. Why Do Brands Choose Kiosks ❓ Awareness : Kiosks are often used as experiential marketing tools, offering an unparalleled opportunity to enhance brand visibility. They provide direct customer interaction, which helps build strong customer journeys and insights. Convenience : Compact spaces, ranging from 30-100 sq ft, with thoughtfully curated product selections, not only reduce inventory burden but also streamline decision-making for customers. Ease of Launch : Kiosks feature easy plug-and-play setups, requiring minimal time investment in planning and execution. Brands can typically go from securing space to opening for business in as little as 7 days. While the primary aim of a kiosk is brand promotion and customer interaction, it's crucial to analyze how effectively these visits translate into tangible revenue for the brands. Helping brands grow profitable Omni channel growth with Tech , Ai and Growth Marketing | Ex: Lenskart, Amex, Tata Group | Top 100 AI Leaders, Career Coach ✨

Is securing prime mall space the hardest challenge for D2C to go Omni Channel ? In today’s market, not all categories thrive online. For many like me, the in-store experience—trying, fitting, touching—still holds immense value. As D2C brands mature, scaling purely online becomes costly. The logical next step? Omni-channel expansion with physical stores. But there’s a hurdle: 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀. Recently, the founder of Rare Rabbit, Manish Poddar talked about this issue on the WTF podcast by Nikhil Kamath . Why Malls? • Vibrant Ecosystem: Easy setup with endless opportunities. • Guaranteed Foot Traffic: Malls attract consistent crowds. • Weather-Proof: Malls thrive regardless of the weather. However, malls often hesitate to partner with emerging brands due to: 1. Sustainability: Can the brand survive long-term? 2. Closed Networks: Malls prefer working with familiar players. 3. Trust Issues: Skepticism about new brands in the retail space. While the podcast highlighted the issue, it ended with no solution. But there’s a silver lining! LiteStore is addressing this challenge by : • Forging Deep Partnerships: Strong networks with mall owners. • Store Management Expertise: Ensuring success at scale. • Flexible Leasing: Tailored options for emerging brands. In just 2+ years of operation they have leased out 70,000 sq ft of space across 10 + cities with 33 + stores. Enabling Omni Channel brands like NEWME , The Pant Project , BEWAKOOF® , Solethreads , 10Club and many more ,, In Popular malls chains like Lulu, Garuda, Orion , Forum, Elante , M5, Nexus. When speaking to few D2C founders I got aware how Litestore is helping them. Also when I spoke with Litestore founders Puneet Dinesh  & Tarun S. I was amazed with the unique business model. While most startup start Online, they are starting Offline. If you’re a D2C brand ready to scale your Omni-Channel experience: • Check out the WTF podcast episode for valuable insights. • Explore LiteStore for offline expansion. • Keep following us at DAiOM PS: This isn’t sponsored— the results speak for themselves.
