Throwback to November 2019 when we launched LoCal, the first fitness food restaurant in Chennai. The excitement among fitness enthusiasts was palpable, and the response exceeded our wildest expectations. People loved us for the quality and taste of our low-calorie offerings. Our menu was entirely crafted keeping health in mind without any refined flours, added sugars, refined oils, or artificial colors. Customers had the choice between balanced meals, high-protein bowls and innovative menu that blew peoples mind who conceived health food as boring. The vegetable-loaded cheese pizza and avocado mousse for desserts quickly became fan favorites. When COVID-19 hit, affecting almost all businesses and especially restaurants, we weren't spared. Just three months after opening, we had to close our doors for several months. However, we adapted swiftly by introducing subscription models that kept us afloat. We also extended our services to hospitals and government aids, ensuring our health food reached those in need. In the 2020-21 fiscal year, we achieved a turnover of 11 crores. This journey is a testament to turning disadvantages into advantages. We didn't just survive; we thrived when disaster struck. What a look back. What a startup. What a learning experience! Life is surely defined by such experiences and learnings. Making us more resilient for everything the future can hold.
