Achieving operational excellence requires planning, execution, monitoring, adaptability, teamwork, and a deep commitment to continuous learning and improvement. In keeping with this spirit, Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India recently hosted "EXCELerate" – a two-day learning event designed to celebrate and share more about operational excellence. We had the privilege of listening to valuable insights from Magnus Östberg, Chief Software Officer at Mercedes-Benz AG, and Manu Saale, MD and CEO, MBRDI, on the key ingredients for this transformation journey. Jayaprakash Puttaswamy, Agility Coach for leaders and organisations, decoded successful transformation programmes, and called out everyone’s role in shaping organisation culture. This was followed by a panel discussion with him and Frank Preidel, Global Head of Operational Excellence, Mercedes-Benz AG, Rajaganapathy Rajendran, Vice-President, IT for MB.OS, Cloud and Data Platform, MBRDI, moderated by Deepti Sengupta, Operational Excellence Leader, MBRDI. With eight diverse learning tracks ranging from #LeanAgile 101 to New Ways of Working, the learning sessions offered practical knowledge on propelling the transformation towards achieving #OperationalExcellence. #TogetherForExcellence

At Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India, we are constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation to accelerate the future of #electricmobility. In line with our vision of a carbon-neutral world, we are pioneering technologies that enhance the performance, safety, and efficiency of electric vehicles. This #WorldEVDay, we are proud to highlight some of the key advancements driving this transformation. Our charging infrastructure is getting smarter. Dynamic charging profiles now adapt to the specific needs of the vehicle, allowing for faster and more efficient charging. Additionally, we are optimising energy management at charging stations to enable multiple vehicles to charge simultaneously without compromising on speed. In the development process, we are taking proactive steps to identify and fix performance issues early on. By front-loading Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing, we streamline development, ensuring that our vehicles perform reliably in real-world environments. We are also transforming high-power stations into multiple low-power units, increasing efficiency and accessibility for electric vehicle users. Each of these innovations brings us closer to a sustainable, electric future. #ElectricVehicles #Innovation #Sustainability

🚀 Exciting discussions and insights at the second Mercedes-Benz Sustainability Dialogue in India Yesterday I had the privilege of participating in a vibrant exchange of ideas with government representatives, and leaders from businesses and non-profit organisations, all dedicated to a wide range of sustainability topics – from the trustworthy handling of #Data all the way to #TrafficSafety. The diversity of perspectives and the depth of debates were truly invaluable. One of my highlights was talking about global sustainability trends and their impact on the Indian automotive industry with Amitabh Kant, India's G20 Sherpa and former CEO of NITI Aayog, and Manu Saale, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India in a conversation moderated by Shweta Pandey, General Counsel at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India. Amitabh Kant made an interesting point emphasizing that India should relentlessly embrace EVs. With only 24 cars per 1,000 people, this number is set to rise. Starting with EVs at scale from the outset will strengthen India's position – a view that I share. And I believe this perspective is relevant for many emerging economies. Another highlight was the panel discussion on “Digital Trust” where I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Alok Lall, Chief Operating Officer at Microsoft India & South Asia, Vinayak Godse, CEO of the Data Security Council of India, and Umang Dharmik, Senior Vice President at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India and our moderator Ajeya Motaganahalli, VP of Engineering & Managing Director of R&D at Pure Storage. We basically all agreed that Digital Trust is at the heart of our industry's transformation, driven by the rapid development of digital technologies, products, and services. It is essential for customers to have a reliable legal framework that provides transparency and control over their personal data. For me, #DigitalTrust means ensuring data responsibility, fostering responsible AI, enhancing digital literacy, and shaping the future of cybersecurity. This is the foundation for a sustainable and competitive digital business. A big thank you to my fellow panelists for the engaging and insightful conversation! And a great shout-out to the whole team of Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India who did a fantastic job in organising this event!
