MetaShot is redefining home entertainment by bringing cricket into your living room with smart gaming technology! Co-founded by Prince Thomas, Ranjit Behera, and Ajith Sunny, the Bengaluru-based startup has developed an innovative hardware-based gaming system that allows users to play cricket indoors using a smart bat and motion-tracking sensors. “Whatever you do in your living room, your avatar will do the same thing on the screen,” says Thomas, likening the experience to the Nintendo Wii, but at a fraction of the cost. Since its launch in September 2023, MetaShot has seen remarkable growth, selling 25,000+ units and experiencing a fivefold revenue increase year-over-year. With an affordable price of ₹5,000, compared to ₹40,000+ for traditional consoles like PlayStation or Nintendo Switch, MetaShot is making motion-based gaming more accessible than ever in India. The company has also secured ₹11 crore in seed funding led by Sauce.vc and an additional ₹1.6 crore for a 5% stake on Shark Tank India, fueling its expansion. Looking ahead, MetaShot is preparing to launch a universal motion-tracking device that will allow users to switch between cricket, tennis, and other sports simply by changing the bat or racket attachment. “If we start hitting our potential, we can do much more,” Thomas emphasizes, as the company aims to surpass traditional gaming giants like Sony and Nintendo in India. With its affordability, accessibility, and innovative tech, MetaShot is set to revolutionize sports-tech gaming and change the way India plays at home!
