    Skilling Tree Project Lead at Mindificient ll Aspiring Psychologist

    My journey with Mindificient began with an observership focused on outbound training and the development of soft skills within corporate environments. What started as an observership quickly evolved into a dynamic experience filled with invaluable learning opportunities. Over time, I transitioned from an observer to an intern, and eventually, I was entrusted with the role of Project Lead for the Skilling Tree initiative—a project I look forward to discussing in more detail in my next post. I am deeply grateful to Neha Thakur for placing her trust in me with the Skilling Tree project. The supportive and nurturing environment at Mindificient has provided me with the perfect platform to grow, contribute, and bring new ideas to the table—all within a remarkably short period.     Reflecting on My Journey with Mindificient When I first joined Mindificient I had no idea how transformative this experience would be. Not only have I gained invaluable skills, but I’ve also had the opportunity to deeply introspect and grow both personally and professionally. During my time here, I’ve honed my skills in: -Scheduling: it helped me in managing and handling the behind the scenes for the sessions planning. -Teamwork: working with many minds having difference of opinions and views.. have made me more adaptable. -Management: Has helped me understand empathy and how to lead with confidence. -Communication: Sharpening my ability to convey ideas clearly, confidently, and with impact. We learnt the sandwich feedback method, which now helps me to communicate better with others and have my personal views. -Networking: Building my social connections and working with school management has helped me grow my network. -Designing Modules: Creating everything from scratch.. understanding the basics challenges and doing and re-doing it , brought us closer to perfection ! But beyond these skills, the most significant takeaway has been the introspection. Mindificient has pushed me to reflect on my strengths, weaknesses, and become the kind of professional I aspire to be. I’m incredibly grateful for these 4 months at Mindificient and excited to see where these learnings will take me next! Here’s to continuous learning and growth.

    Empowering Young Minds: My Experience with the Skilling Tree Initiative On August 10th and 17th, I had the incredible opportunity to co-facilitate sessions on Time Management and Stress Management for 8th-grade students at Modern High School, Ganeshkhind, as part of the Skilling Tree initiative by Mindificient. Skilling Tree is a visionary program aimed at equipping students from 7th to 10th grade with essential life skills through experiential learning. The initiative is designed to empower young minds, preparing them to navigate the challenges of life with confidence and resilience. My Sessions: - Time Management (August 10th): We explored strategies to prioritize tasks, set realistic goals, and create effective schedules. The students were eager to learn, and it was rewarding to see them grasp concepts that will help them stay organized and productive. - Stress Management (August 17th): In this session, we discussed the effects of stress and various techniques to handle stress through engaging activities and guided visualization. The discussions that followed allowed the students to reflect on their experiences and apply the techniques in real-time. Why This Matters: Teaching these invaluable skills to students at a young age is crucial. It is not just about helping them excel academically, but also about shaping well-rounded individuals who are prepared to thrive beyond the classroom. Engaging with the students, seeing their enthusiasm, and witnessing their growth was truly fulfilling. A Big Thank You: I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Neha Thakur, the founder of Mindificient, for this amazing opportunity. Your dedication to empowering young people is truly inspiring, and I am honored to contribute to such a meaningful initiative.     Creating an LGBTQIA+ inclusive workplace not only provides a safe space for employees but also cultivates an environment that attracts a diverse range of talent. Research shows that organizations with inclusive workspaces see lower turnover rates, foster a more productive environment, and see more success. 6 Tips for creating LGBTQIA+ inclusive workspaces: 1. The Leader's Influence Leadership buy-in is crucial for culture change. When senior management show active support for LGBTQIA+ inclusion, it sets a positive tone for the entire organization. Representation matters, and leaders who are promoters of LGBTQIA+ inclusion can significantly impact employees. 2. Normalize Sharing Pronouns Normalizing pronoun sharing across the organization fosters inclusion. Encourage everyone, not just queer and trans employees, to add their pronouns to email signatures, Slack profiles, Zoom names, and business cards. This act respects everyone's right to self-identify and helps LGBTQIA+ employees feel comfortable being their authentic selves at work. 3. Display Symbols of Support Display symbols like rainbow flags or stickers to show that the space is LGBTQIA+ friendly. Use inclusive imagery and language in marketing and communications to reflect diversity. 4. Organize an LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group (ERG) LGBTQIA+ ERGs build community, provide support, and amplify queer and trans voices within your organization. Ensure the ERG has a clear mission, leadership sponsors, and avenues for driving change. Allies should participate to maximize impact and show solidarity. 5. Zero Tolerance for Discrimination A robust non-discrimination policy and a clear process for addressing harassment and bullying are essential. Ensure employees know how to report incidents of discrimination and that there are serious consequences for hateful behaviour. Creating an inclusive culture requires taking a zero-tolerance stance and backing it up with action. 6. Pride All-Year Long Inclusion is a year-round commitment. Incorporate LGBTQIA+ education and awareness into your company culture throughout the year. Host lunch and learns on LGBTQIA+ topics, create a dedicated Slack channel for sharing resources, or organize volunteer days with local queer and trans nonprofits.
