The challenge of designing a world class stadium fit for a Taylor Swift concert and a Premier League football match, is one that technical director, Wojciech Markowski, discusses in his article for Construction Management magazine. Incorporating the differing needs of sports and music fans needs to be considered in the design and operation of stadia. Years of practice in design, construction and operation of buildings and continuous research have helped designers better understand the dynamic behaviour of building structures. This has led to development of new tools and methods of analysis to assess structural vibrations which enables engineers to achieve lighter and more efficient designs. Read more about the work we are doing with the wider construction industry in response to the challenge. ⬇️ https://mottm.ac/4ishWiJ

“If the built environment doesn't work, then society doesn't work…” – Mark Enzer Systems-based thinking is championed by strategic advisor director and one of our #Fellows Mark Enzer to recognise the #BuiltEnvironment as more than just as a series of construction projects. In this video, Mark Enzer recounts his 40 years with Mott MacDonald, starting from his role in infrastructure to enabling digital twin projects worldwide with our digital solutions platform. He also discusses his involvement with the Centre for Digital Built Britain, leading the UK's National Digital Twin programme. This initiative has transformed the use of data for the public good and has facilitated the creation of an ecosystem of interconnected #DigitalTwins. This two-way connection between the physical and digital worlds is essential for understanding all parts of the system. Its data flow generates insights and facilitates better decision-making to drive sustainable and effective intervention. How would you apply this thinking to help people and nature flourish?
