I hired this 50yr-old housewife as a content writer 6yrs ago. Today she’s my Head of B2B sales at Multibhashi 🙌🙌 And it all began with a poem, her daughter wrote, ranting about her nagging mom. As a mother to a daughter myself, I typed a humorous poem as a reply to her daughter. And when Srividya read it, we immediately struck off on a good chord. Introduced to her that way, we soon got on a call where she talked about how kids these days often see moms differently if they aren’t earning money. Sensing a genuine lady who wanted to do more, I immediately offered her a job. .. She was reluctant. Firstly, she had never worked for anybody. Secondly, how could it all come so easily? Someone read a poem from her daughter and offered her a job. What? Nonetheless, she lapped up the opportunity anyway. .. From the very start, I started raining content writing work on her. And to my surprise, I never had to follow up, as she would come back before deadlines, asking, “What else she can help with?” It was well evident, she loved the fact that someone saw merit in her, and wanted to prove her worth. Thus, deep in gratitude, she should never say no to any task I would assign to her 🙌🙌 I have never heard her say: This isn’t what I was hired for. This is not my job. Etc etc. .. Honest and dedicated, she earned so much love and repute within the team and with me, that we elevated her to Co-head our Kannada division within a few months. And, proud of the promotion she had earned within months, she had realised she was limitless. That promotion served as a barrel of fuel to get her soaring. .. Then came a day when I asked her to assist me in cracking a new client. And that experience left such a strong imprint on her, she pinged me at the end of the day sharing how grateful she was to me for introducing her to sales. Thus, when we started our tele-calling department, I asked her to own up the sales function and bring in the clients. Delighted that I held enough confidence in her to give this fresh new responsibility, the lady who had yet to crack any client went on a rampage. She had clients raining for us. And these included one of India’s top-5 IT companies! 🙌🙌 That is how she got to a stage where I decided, we needed to elevate her again. And we got our Head of B2B sales! .. We’ve been working together for almost 6yrs now. All this time, Srividya has kept me on my toes, as I need to keep coming up with more and more for her to work on and accomplish. Any founder is blessed to have this kind of team member. And I got her, just because her daughter wrote a poem, ranting about her. Imagine! .. Life’s all about such serendipity and chaos. And ones who embrace it with open arms are the ones who end up getting the most out of it 🙌🙌 To me Srividya was one such case. Weeks before Diwali, we celebrated her 50th birthday. Sharing some pictures from that below :) Best, Anuradha | Dexter Ventures

Garbha is a traditional dance form from the Indian state of Gujarat, performed during the festival of Navratri. It is a devotional dance dedicated to the goddess Durga, celebrating feminine energy and fertility. Participants form a circle and dance gracefully to the rhythm of traditional music, clapping hands or using small sticks called dandiyas. The circular movements symbolize the cycle of life, creation, and preservation. #dance#dasara
