Following the activities, a grand lunch prepared by our culinary team delighted every palate. All the families visited our office and the children were excited to explore where their parents worked, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. The Educational Excellence Awards were presented to the outstanding children who excelled in their 10th and 12th-grade examinations during these years. The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony for the game winners, ensuring that everyone left with a smile and joyful memories. We are delighted to share that Mr. Parthasarathi, working in the Production department at MMTCL Ranipet Plant has recently taken part in the Inter District Athletic Championship – 2024, organized by the Vellore Athletic Foundation. More than 1000 athletes from three districts demonstrated their talents across a range of sporting events, and we are proud to announce that Mr. Parthasarathi stood second in the shot-put competition, competing against 40+ participants. The first foundation brick of project AIRA has been successfully laid at our Motibhoyan Plant, marking the start of a new production line by the hands of Mr. Abhijit Kurundwadkar - CEO & Business Head, Mr. Tapas Kumar Haldar - Head of Sales & Marketing, Mr. Balachandhar N - Head of Manufacturing, Mr.Sowmiyanarayanan K - Head of Projects & Mr. Chandaraasekar RL - Plant Head, Motibhoyan - Gujarat. This milestone event is a significant step towards expanding our operations and meeting the growing demand for our products. The new production line is expected to increase our capacity and improve efficiency, allowing us to serve better to our customers and maintain our position as a leading player in the industry. This will be a state-of-the-art facility equipped with all of the modern technologies and efficiencies of fiber product manufacturing. "It's never too early to plan for retirement! Recently organized two days pre-retirement counselling program for our retiring employees through Dignity Foundation. Equipping them with the knowledge and resources they need for a smooth transition into this new chapter of their lives. The program covered various aspects such as financial planning, handling free time, health and wellness, and emotional well-being. This program not only equips individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills but also helps them mentally prepare for the changes that retirement brings. It provided an opportunity for both the retiring employees and their spouses to gain insights and plan for a fulfilling post-retirement life together. Their spouses can also serve as a sounding board for ideas and offer emotional support during the transition to retirement. As part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, MMTCL has recently donated much-needed supplies to Government Community Health Centre, Government Girls Higher Secondary School at Thiruvalam and Thiru Murugan Government Aided Middle School at Vanapadi nearby villages at Ranipet District. Our Business head Mr. Abhijit Kurundwadkar, Manufacturing Head Mr. Balachandhar, & HR Head Mr. Sulthan demonstrated their commitment towards social responsibility by actively participating in this CSR activity. This initiative was taken to support and uplift the communities in the area. Understanding the importance of education and healthcare in a society, it is believed that everyone should have access to basic necessities for a better quality of life. CUFEST - CUMI’s Annual Quality Festival which was started in 1999 celebrated its Silver Jubilee this year. CUFEST has continued to serve as a platform for the 7 Businesses of CUMI - Abrasives, Electrominerals, Ceramics, Super Refractories, SEDCO, MMTCL and Wendt to showcase their quality initiatives, innovations and best practices, with teams from each of the businesses competing for the winners slot in each of the listed categories. In addition, CUFEST provides teams a great learning and cross industry experience. Jointly sponsored by MMTCL together with CUMI’s Super Refractories division, CUFEST this year was held on 15th & 16th December, 2023 at the Vellore Institute of Technology, with teams across the Murugappa Group competing in 25 event categories. MMTCL teams participated in all the events and won prizes in 13 of them.
