On 25th February 2025, the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) successfully conducted the 6th webinar in its series on Good Governance: Policies & Practices in partnership with Indian Institute of Management Kashipur. The session featured two distinguished speakers: 🔹 Dr. Atulan Guha, Chairperson, Centre of Excellence in Public Policy and Government, IIM Kashipur 🔹 Dr. Harish Kumar, Chairperson, MBA (Analytics) Programme, IIM Kashipur Dr. guha atulan, in his talk on Climate Change, Rainfall Variations & Challenges to Food Production, presented a 120-year data analysis (1901–2020) on rainfall trends and their impact on agricultural output. His study highlighted critical factors such as irrigation, groundwater levels, farmers' socio-economic status, and government policies in shaping agricultural productivity. Dr. Harish kumar spoke on Digital Transformation in Governance, emphasizing digital transformation, strategic technological utilization, and upgrading existing applications. He described digital transformation as a multidisciplinary process that drives value creation, structural shifts, technological advancements, and financial optimization in governance. The session concluded with an insightful Q&A discussion, where participants engaged with the speakers on governance strategies aimed at enhancing the ease of living for migrants in India. On 24th January 2025, NCGG successfully hosted the 5th webinar in its Series on Good Governance: Policies & Practices in collaboration with Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli. The session featured two distinguished speakers: Dr. Saumen Majumdar, Associate Professor and Shri Shailesh K. PATHAK, Former IAS & guest faculty at IIM Tiruchirappalli. Dr. Saumen Majumdar shared key insights into how India coped with the shocks of COVID-19 through reverse migration, based on his comprehensive study involving three rounds of surveys. He highlighted how caste and religion influenced migration patterns and recommended establishing Social Safety Networks for better support to migrants. Shri. Shailesh K. PATHAK spoke on Urban Governance policies to support migrants, emphasizing the role of livelihood opportunities and urban growth as key drivers of migration. He also proposed innovative solutions such as Aadhar-enabled transit houses and strengthening programs like e-Shram and UAN to support migrants. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where participants shared their perspectives and posed thought-provoking questions to the speakers, leading to insightful discussions on policies and practices to bring ease of living for migrants in India. On January 24, 2025, Shri Srinivas Voruganti, Secretary, DARPG & Director General, NCGG, held an interactive meeting with Prof. Prof. Nura Mohamed, Ph.D, EBS, Director General, Kenya School of Government (KSG), to finalize the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Centre for Good Governance and Kenya School of Government. Shri Srinivas Voruganti, Secretary to Government of India Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and Dept of Pension and Pensioners Welfare at Ministry of Personnel Public Grievances and Pensions, delivered an insightful session on "Effective Redressal of Public Grievances - The Indian Experience" at the Special Capacity Building Program on Leadership & National Transformation for 29 senior civil servants from the Republic of Kenya. The delegation, led by Hon’ble Attorney General Ms. Dorcas Oduor SC, OGW, EBS, included distinguished officials from key ministries such as Public Service, ICT, Internal Security and the Kenya School of Government. Shri V. Srinivas shared India's success story of citizen-centric governance through platforms like CPGRAMS and emphasized the enduring partnership between NCGG and the Kenya School of Government, initiated in 2023.
