Growing a Healthier Future! Under the ongoing Poshan Maah, Aspirational Block Talasari, Palghar district, Maharashtra launched impactful activities to emphasise the importance of nutrition under the Sampoornata Abhiyan. Anganwadi workers received training in Nutri-garden cultivation, accompanied by garden kits to grow nutritious vegetables. The Lupin Foundation distributed Sam Mam kits to promote child nutrition. Aahar Melas showcased nutritious food, and awareness rallies throughout villages encouraged good hygiene practices, nutrition, and the importance of the first 1,000 days of a child’s life. These initiatives contribute towards the 100% saturation of key nutritional indicators, furthering the goals of Sampoornata Abhiyan. Promoting Nutrition and Fighting Anaemia in Assam! Poshan Maah was officially inaugurated under the Sampoornata Abhiyan in Bhergaon Block, Udalguri District in Assam. The event featured awareness campaigns and educational activities focused on anaemia, growth monitoring of children, and complementary feeding. Displays of locally available healthy vegetables, fruits, and other foods, along with an awareness campaign on a balanced and nutritional diet, were also part of the program. The Poshan Tracker was introduced to Anganwadi and ASHA workers, with reports taken for Key Performance Indicators (KPI) under the Aspirational Blocks Programme across all sectors. The state government of Uttar Pradesh organised an Orientation and State Adoption Workshop on the NITI for States (NFS) Platform under the State Support Mission (SSM) at Lucknow. Over 200 state government officers, comprising senior officials, departmental secretaries, and officers from 72 districts across Uttar Pradesh participated in the programme and interacted with the NITI Aayog team. NITI Aayog released an Expert Group Report on Future Pandemic Preparedness today. The report provides a pandemic preparedness and emergency response framework for the country to prepare for any future public health emergency. It outlines an action plan for a 100-day response to any outbreak which is critical for effective management. Prepared after extensive consultations with experts from the academia industry, clinicians, epidemiologists, researchers, policymakers and multilateral organisations, the report recommends a comprehensive blueprint to serve as a starting point for the country’s pandemic preparedness and prevention efforts.
