Konosuke's “Passion at 86" - Starting All Over Again In January 1981, Konosuke Matsushita, the founder of the Panasonic Group, at the age of 86, announced his plan to relocate to the US, saying “I want to bring back my youthful enthusiasm, revisit our founding philosophy, and start from square one in the US." 📢 His plans were strongly disapproved from the people around him, concerned about the risks associated with his advanced age, and he was compelled to announce the cancellation of his plan. A green future is at the heart of our mission. As part of Panasonic’s Eco Relay initiative, the Panasonic Life Solutions India team organized a tree plantation drive today at the NSG campus, Manesar. Grateful to our NGO partner, CATCH Foundation, for their great support in bringing this project to life. The initiative was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Manish Sharma, Chairman, Panasonic Life Solutions India; Mr. Harsh Agarwal, CFO, Panasonic Energy Company; and other key dignitaries, including Jagdish Prasad Maithani, Group Commander (Garrison), NSG Manesar and Bharat Sisodia, Chairman, CATCH Foundation. It was inspiring to see our employees actively contribute to this cause by planting saplings, towards transforming a part of NSG’s dumping yard into a dense forest. This effort will not only support local biodiversity and reduce carbon emissions but also give momentum to our mission of reducing CO₂ emissions by over 300 million tons by 2050.
