Breastfeeding at the Olympics🤱🏻 As World Breastfeeding Week commences, let’s celebrate a monumental stride towards inclusivity and support for new mothers in the world of sports. 🏃♀️ The Paris Olympics is making history by supporting breastfeeding athletes with on-site accommodations. This isn’t just about facilities; it’s a powerful statement that motherhood and athleticism can coexist. For years, women athletes have juggled the demands of elite performance with the tender responsibilities of motherhood. The Paris Olympics is recognizing this delicate balance by offering hotel rooms near the athletes' village for breastfeeding mothers. This decision is not just a logistical arrangement; it's a profound acknowledgment of the physical and emotional needs of these extraordinary women. These accommodations are more than just facilities; they are a symbol of progress. They signify a shift in societal perspective, recognizing that motherhood and athletic prowess are not mutually exclusive. It's a powerful message to women everywhere: that they can pursue their dreams without compromising their maternal instincts. As we cheer for these incredible athletes, let's also applaud the organizers for creating an environment that supports breastfeeding mothers. This is a step forward in ensuring that every woman, regardless of her role, has the support she needs to thrive. After all, every mother deserves the best possible start for her and her child. 🤱🏻 Let's celebrate this win for all moms and athletes! 🥇 #WorldBreastfeedingWeek #Olympics #BreastfeedingMothers #WomenInSports #MotherhoodAndSports #parisolympics #supportforbreastfeeding #closingthegap #maternalandchildhealth

In the first few years of life, a child's brain develops most rapidly - more than a million neural connections are formed each second - faster than any other time in our life! A child's early experiences influence how their brain develops, providing either strong or weak foundations for learning and health throughout life. Parents and caregivers shape these experiences that build their child's brain more than anyone else. So remember, with every hug and every kiss, with every nutritious meal and game you play, you're helping to build your baby's brain! #braindevelopment #childhealth #unicef #nutrition #infant #infantnutrition #healthykids

Virtual Autism: A Growing Concern in India's Digital Age As parents, we all juggle finding a balance between technology and playtime for our children. But in India, a concerning trend is emerging: virtual autism. Early research suggest up to 50-60% of children diagnosed with autism may actually have virtual autism, linked to excessive screen time under age three. While not a formal diagnosis, virtual autism shares some symptoms with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) like: Difficulty socializing Speech delays Limited attention span Hyperactivity 🚨Why is this concerning? Early childhood is crucial for developing social skills, language, and emotional regulation. Excessive screen time replaces these critical interactions with passive entertainment. The good news? You can help! 1. Limit screen time for children under 3. 2. Prioritize interactive play: building blocks, singing songs, exploring nature. 3. Seek professional help if you have concerns about your child's development Free fantastic resources for screen-free activities from Harvard and other universities! ( link in comments) Let's prioritize real-world play and create a strong foundation for our children's future! #Virtualautism #Screentime #India #Childdevelopment #Arizonauniversity #Screenfreeactivities #playfulparenting #earlychildhooddevelopment #preventivehealth #preventivepediatrics

Protecting Babies: How Tobacco Harms During Pregnancy 🤰 #worldnotobaccoday2024 It is important to understand how tobacco affects pregnancies. 🚬Whether it's from smoking or using smokeless tobacco, the chemicals in tobacco can harm your baby before they're even born. 💨Even if you don't smoke yourself, being around secondhand smoke is dangerous too. 😤Smoke and Smokeless: Both Harmful 🙅♀️ When you smoke, the bad stuff goes into your bloodstream and reaches your baby through the placenta. 👆🏻This can lead to problems like low birth weight and premature birth. Smokeless tobacco, like chewing tobacco or snuff, isn't any better. It still exposes your baby to harmful chemicals, putting them at risk for health issues. ❌Even If You Don't Smoke: Secondhand Smoke Is a Problem If you're around people who smoke, you and your baby can still be affected. 😥 Breathing in secondhand smoke can cause the same problems as if you were smoking yourself. It's important to stay away from places where people are smoking, especially during pregnancy. What You Can Do ✅ 1️⃣The best thing you can do for your baby is to avoid tobacco altogether. 2️⃣If you smoke, quitting is the most important step you can take to protect your baby's health. 3️⃣And if you're around smokers, ask them to smoke outside or away from you. 4️⃣Creating a smoke-free environment is the best way to keep you and your baby safe. 🤝Protecting Your Baby's Health🤝 By staying away from tobacco smoke and avoiding smokeless tobacco, you're giving your baby the best chance at a healthy start in life. Remember, every decision you make during pregnancy can impact your baby's health, so choose wisely. #pregnancysafe #healthypregnancy #notobacco #staysafe #linkedinlearning #maternalhealth

Here's Your Guide to Period Products 🩸 Today, on #WorldMenstrualHygieneDay, let's talk about periods! Periods are a natural part of life, and having access to safe and effective period products is crucial. But with so many options available, choosing the right one can feel overwhelming. This post will break down the most common menstrual products, including whether they're disposable or reusable, and how often they need to be changed. Disposable Products: 🩸Pads: These adhesive strips attach to your underwear and absorb menstrual blood. Pads come in various sizes and absorbencies for different flow levels. They're a user-friendly option, but they create waste and can get bulky. 🩸Tampons: Inserted into the vagina, tampons absorb blood internally. They come with or without applicators (for easier insertion) and in various absorbencies. Tampons offer discretion and freedom of movement, but insertion can take practice, and they need to be changed every 4-8 hours to avoid TSS (toxic shock syndrome). ♻️Reusable Products: 🩸Menstrual Cups: Made from medical-grade silicone, menstrual cups are inserted into the vagina to collect menstrual blood. They can be worn for up to 12 hours and are then emptied, rinsed, and reinserted. Cups are eco-friendly and cost-effective in the long run, but removing and reinserting them can feel messy to some. 🩸Period Underwear: These absorbent panties look and feel like regular underwear but have built-in leakproof lining. They come in various absorbencies and are perfect for light to moderate flows or as backup for other products. Period underwear is comfortable and reusable, but they need to be washed after each use. 🩸Cloth Pads : They look like disposable pads with an adhesive sticker and have leak proof lining. Come in various absorbency but needs change 3-4 times a day and wash after every use. Changing Frequency: 🩸Disposable Pads & Tampons: Change every 4-8 hours, depending on your flow. 🩸Reusable Menstrual Cups: Empty and rinse every 12 hours or as needed. 🩸Period Underwear: Change daily or as needed depending on absorbency and flow. 🩸Cloth pads : Change every 6-8 hours or as per flow. Remember, this is just a guide! The best period product is the one that works best for you. Don't be afraid to experiment and find what makes you feel comfortable and confident during your period. Happy World Menstrual Hygiene Day! #WorldMenstrualHygieneDay #MenstrualHygieneMatters #Periods #PeriodTalk #WomensHealth #Pads #Tampons #MenstrualCups #PeriodUnderwear #ReusablePeriodProducts
