Innovation has always been the fuel for our parent company InnovMetric. Back in 2016, PolyWorks delivered a universal 3D metrology workflow to portable metrology and CNC CMM operators. It was a revolutionary concept that was set to change the quality control industry! From then on, only one software was required to operate all measuring tools (major brands of portable probing devices, CNC CMM, 3D scanners, etc.), eliminating metrology silos, boosting employee mobility, and improving overall teamwork efficiency. Did you know that InnovMetric has been collaborating with NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration since 1997? For example, in 1997, they contributed to a project which involved creating 3D models of the planet Mars’ surface. Later, in 2005, they were also involved in a project for scanning the Space Shuttle #Discovery to ensure safe reentry! Back in 1992, when Dr. Marc Soucy, graduating from Université Laval, published a pioneering technique for meshing point clouds of complex objects into polygonal models, no one was using that technique yet! So, his life partner, Esther Bouliane, encouraged him to commercialize some of his innovative technologies... and the rest is history! 2 years later, they founded our parent company InnovMetric.
