With her constant support, we are able to connect with and treat patients suffering from cataracts in some of the most remote areas of India. Raising awareness and working towards a cause is only possible when every member of the team makes it their personal goal. My journey with Practo started back in 2014 in Mumbai, and I still remember those early days like they were yesterday. I was part of the Mumbai team for six years, witnessing firsthand the company’s growth as a Territory Sales Manager. As Practo expanded, new care units were established, and the demand for management skyrocketed overnight. In 2020, I made the move to Bangalore to join Practo’s latest service offering. This wasn’t just a relocation—it was a turning point for me. It opened up a whole world of opportunities, learning, and growth. I found myself transitioning from the sales head of a 30-people team to becoming the sales head of our Prime Business unit. At just 30 years old, I was still figuring things out in the corporate world, and suddenly, I was leading a team of 100! It was a whirlwind—both overwhelming and exciting at the same time. As my journey progressed, I joined Practo Ray, our software service and we saw our business grow rapidly to thousands of customers in just a year. This growth was further triggered with the onset of the pandemic when people started calling us around the clock, and we were working overtime to keep up with immediate demands. With each new responsibility, my role expanded, and I soon found myself managing multiple verticals at Practo, mentoring and guiding younger talent. One thing that really helped me navigate these transitions and handle the increasing responsibilities was meditation. I know, it sounds a bit “yogi,” but dedicating 2-3 hours a day to meditation made a huge difference. It kept me grounded and balanced, both in my professional and personal life. Oh, and here’s a fun fact: I used to be a professional cricket player! I played for Tamil Nadu, and those were some of the best times of my life. Back then, with fewer responsibilities, I had the freedom to follow my heart. What else can I tell you? For me, sales has always been about finding the right solutions for people and helping them discover the best healthcare for themselves and their families. This mission, grounded in Shashank’s (founder) philosophy, became the core of our work. I’ve seen Practo grow at lightning speed, and it’s this growth that’s kept me so invested all these years. Working closely with doctors and connecting with them regularly has also taught me how invaluable our health is and how we must stick to wellness as much as possible.
