FHIR AI Assistant is one of the interesting use cases that we are working on. The good thing about FHIR is that it captures both structured and unstructured data together. The AI Assistant generates actionable insights combining structured and unstructured data. With PragmaConnect, we gather patient information from different EHRs as well as wearable devices with plug and play integrations. Practitioners can use FHIR AI Assistant by simply writing instructions or using voice-based commands for insights on patient data. Here are a few examples - 1. Get details of patient Camila Lopez. 2. Give a list of all patients with diabetes who have taken the drug metformin in the last 3 months. 3. Summarize all clinical notes of Camila Lopez. The approach to achieving this is as follows: 1. Utilize an AI model to convert text into a structured FHIR search query. 2. Query the database to obtain the necessary information and use AI again for tasks such as summarizing clinical notes. 3. Present the output in formatted tables or simple text depending on the use case. Where applicable, add hyperlink to actual UI elements for detailed exploration. This AI assistant can solve a wide range of use cases and reduce practitioner burnout significantly. We will be sharing a demo of this implementation in the coming weeks. Exciting News! We're thrilled to show you a demonstration of PragmaConnect's new feature that uses AI to create clinical notes. In our last post, we talked about how healthcare providers can get patient information from Epic. Now, in this demo, you can see how the Clinical Note is made in real-time based on what the patient and provider are talking about. Providers can also add more information to the Clinical Note using text or audio. The note is then turned into a FHIR DocumentReference resource and sent back to the main healthcare system, like Epic. When we made this, we made sure to protect your private health information (PHI). We take out any PHI from the conversation when using online models like ChatGPT.
