*Fibers and its type with properties* Fibers can be used but understanding its utility and other properties like physical and chemical is equally essential. Let us see the some if the fibers and its properties *1 Polypropylene Fibers* • Chemical Nature: Neutral • Solubility: Insoluble • Density: 900-950 kg/m³ • Spreading Properties: Disperses well in concrete, but tends to float due to low density. • Reaction with Cement: Non-reactive; helps control shrinkage cracking. • Compatibility with Admixtures: Compatible with most admixtures and does not react chemically. *2.Glass (Alkali-Resistant) Fibers* • Chemical Nature: Alkaline-resistant (AR glass) • Solubility: Insoluble • Density: 2500-2700 kg/m³ • Spreading Properties: Disperses evenly, though heavier than cement particles. • Reaction with Cement: Resistant to alkali attack, making it durable in cement environments. • Compatibility with Admixtures: Generally compatible; however, non-AR glass fibers may weaken in alkaline environments. *3.Steel Fibers* • Chemical Nature: Neutral • Solubility: Insoluble • Density: 7800-8000 kg/m³ • Spreading Properties: Tends to settle in the mix and may require adequate mixing to prevent clumping. • Reaction with Cement: Does not react chemically but is prone to corrosion if exposed to moisture. • Compatibility with Admixtures: Works with most admixtures, though chloride-based ones should be avoided to prevent rusting. *4.Carbon Fibers* • Chemical Nature: Neutral • Solubility: Insoluble • Density: 1800 kg/m³ • Spreading Properties: Disperses well but may need mixing aids due to light weight. • Reaction with Cement: Inert and does not chemically react, though it can increase electrical conductivity in concrete. • Compatibility with Admixtures: Compatible with most admixtures; non-reactive. *5.Basalt Fibers* • Chemical Nature: Slightly alkaline • Solubility: Insoluble • Density: 2600-2800 kg/m³ • Spreading Properties: Disperses evenly and is similar in weight to cement particles. • Reaction with Cement: Minimal reaction, and alkali-resistant, which enhances durability. • Compatibility with Admixtures: Generally compatible; no adverse reactions observed. We should be careful for selecting fibers based on usage. *Disclaimer- All data and information provided herein are for informational purposes only. *Dry wall and speed* LGSF - Light gauge steel framing is also know as dry wall partition. It increases speed of the work. And also reducing time and cost. There are multiple options Panels , for panelling we can go with plywood, colour coated sheets , cement fiber board , PVC sheet etc . In our latest project of composite structure we used LGSF for external walls. *Total wall of 520 running meter framing was just erected in 12 working days , such speed cannot be achieved in regular brick/block work* We can eliminate plastering activity and in same cases painting also if used colour coated sheets , PVC sheets or laminated boards. We have various options for panelling , for internal and external we can use different materials. *Disclaimer- All data and information provided herein are for informational purposes only. *Job sills and myths* As industry we need basic plus advance skills together but if we look at today new generation of engineers are thinking that basic doesn’t required if advance is gained in the same way old generation thinks of basics if strong no need to go for advancement here is the why we required both basics and advance both … 1. *Basic Skill: Manual Drawing & Drafting* Advanced Skill: 3D Modeling (Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD Civil 3D) • Importance: • Manual Drawing & Drafting: Helps develop a strong understanding of plans, sections, elevations, and scale. This is the foundation for precise communication on-site. • 3D Modeling: Enables better visualization, accurate detailing, and coordination across multiple trades, but cannot replace the fundamental understanding of building plans. 2. *Basic Skill: Reading & Interpreting Construction Drawings* Advanced Skill: BIM Coordination (Building Information Modeling) • Importance: • Reading Drawings: Essential for site engineers to understand project details, dimensions, and instructions. Every engineer must be able to interpret drawings quickly. • BIM: Allows for intelligent coordination, clash detection, and real-time updates. However, understanding the drawings behind the model is crucial for applying engineering judgment. 3. *Basic Skill: Manual Quantity Estimation* Advanced Skill: Automated Quantity Takeoff (e.g., through BIM or Excel) • Importance: • Manual Estimation: Teaches an engineer the process of breaking down components and costs, which is critical for accurate planning and budgeting. • Automated Estimation: While efficient and time-saving, it requires a solid understanding of how quantities are derived to ensure no mistakes are made. 4. *Basic Skill: Hand Calculations for Structural Analysis* Advanced Skill: Structural Analysis Software (STAAD.Pro, ETABS) • Importance: • Hand Calculations: Help engineers understand load paths, structural behavior, and the basics of mechanics. Critical for error-checking and conceptual design. • Software: Efficient for complex structures, but should always be supplemented with hand calculations for verification and ensuring no over-reliance on software-generated outputs. 5. Basic Skill: Manual Site Management & Supervision Advanced Skill: Digital Site Management (BIM 360, Procore, Drones, IoT) • Importance: • Manual Management: Provides hands-on experience in solving site challenges, understanding sequences, and handling workforce. • Digital Tools: Offer better project tracking, communication, and data management but should complement the foundational skills of leadership and supervision. We as a industry need and think on this as well *Disclaimer- All data and information provided herein are for informational purposes only.
