By providing essential support, they facilitate independence and promote active participation in everyday life. For Children with delayed development, which is the segment that Project ViThai caters to, assistive devices are equally important as therapy. These include special shoes, splints, special walkers, spine and leg support, etc. These are custom-made for each service user, making the process a little longer, but it is essential for better results. These provide enhanced accessibility and mobility and less stress for caregivers and parents. However, it is important to use them regularly for better results and to improve the condition. On June 19th, Project ViThai provided free assistive devices to 9 of our service users at Kayarambedu village of Kattankulathur block, Chengalpattu district. It was heartening to see the laughs on the faces of our service users and parents on the newfound mobility with the help of these devices. Our mobile therapy van provides therapy to 45 children in this block and covers close to 35 villages. **Let’s recognise the transformative impact of assistive technology and work towards making these essential tools accessible to all.** #DisabilityInclusion #AssistiveTechnology #Empowerment #Accessibility #ProjectVithai

  • "A day delayed is a day lost" is the motivation behind the widespread awareness Project ViThai has undertaken to sensitise parents/community/teachers on the importance of Early Intervention (intervention before 5 years) in case of delayed development in children. We have been trying with media houses, print media, local news channels, etc, to spread this message and about the work that Project ViThai does to reach out to do therapy. Archita Raghu of The New Indian Express, did stop by to learn more and here is the article. 🌟 Thank you, Archita Raghu and The New Indian Express, for spotlighting Project ViThai! This article amplifies our efforts to raise awareness and drive positive change. Early intervention is paramount in the journey of children with delayed development. By recognizing and addressing developmental delays at an early stage, we pave the way for improved outcomes and even the potential reversal of certain conditions. Every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, and through timely intervention, we can provide them with the support and resources they need to thrive. Let's continue to spread awareness about the significance of early intervention and work together to ensure that every child receives the care and support they deserve. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of countless children and families. John Alex Suresh Victor #ProjectViThai #EarlyIntervention #ChildDevelopment #Gratitude #IndianExpress

Last week I had an opportunity to interact with the community at Gram Sabha Meeting in Kayarambedu and share the incredible work of Varshini Illam Trust. The adoption centre has been a beacon of hope, providing love and support to infants in need. I also had the privilege of introducing Project ViThai, a brainchild of my daughter Varshini. This groundbreaking initiative aims to bring paediatric therapy on wheels for under privileged, ensuring early intervention for children under the age of six. Witnessing the enthusiasm and support from the villagers for these projects was truly heartening. Varshini Illam Trust stands as a testament to our commitment to creating safe and loving homes for every child. Project Vithai, on the other hand, reflects our dedication to holistic child development through early intervention. Together, let's continue making a positive impact in the lives of these little ones and their families.
